Why is nobody ever in chat?

I have wanted to join in chat but I am very shy.

Been trying to get my nerve up for the past 5 years...maybe I will make it this year.

I don't know used to be in chat almost every-time I logged on ATS some months ago, but kind of stopped going. I just tried to get back in today and it seems I need to update a few things...Again. They should just leave chat as it was originally they always seem to keep changing it up and that is one of the reasons why people dont go back to chat in my opinion.

When's the last time you successfully logged into chat?

Most often it's just a Java update the causes issues...

I am not a chatter, but will see if I can access it right now.. will edit in my results in a bit.



Takes about 25-30 seconds to completely load, but it works for me.. and I was able to see that you were successful as well

Ya just took some time to get in and updates. So its no biggie.

But I think chat has just been slow lately judging by the short time I been on. I suppose the op is right and people just don't feel all that chatty as they used to. Plus it comes and goes, picks up and slows down, and that's really how it goes, judging from all I seen of my time in chat.

For those running on apple software,check out the apps for flash and java.

I am running windows 7 and using firefox. Apparently there is some issue with the latest flash update and trying to use flash to do things such as watch youtube videos. I followed a link to uninstall the latest version of flash and install a 10.x version which is older and everything is working fine again. I'm not sure if anyone's problem is the same or not.

I used chat a couple of times. There wasn't much going on in there.

You know,to really get up to date in the game is to offer voice chat.
Seems ats is a little behind on this.
Like everything else,stay ahead of the game or fall behind.

It's a new generation of peeps out there looking for a more interactive interface.
Plus it can be more or less " anonomyous" .

For what its worth, chat is not like the forum, its more like banter and sometimes mindless banter. It was alot like yahoo chat last time I was there, they could all have been over 20 but you would never have thought so.......Dances around room....ugh.

I doubt it will happen as text based chat is hard enough to monitor for those that cannot follow the rules. But should it ever happen and someone screws up in a voice chat and gets caught, it would be safe to say that the account would be terminated rather than just a temp ban.

I think I pissed off too many people when I went into chat.

I've only been in there twice, but I thought it was fun.

Chat has been slow as hell, and worse nobody knows any fart jokes. Without fart jokes what other reason is there to be in chat for. Like duh! All the seriousness is killing me.

But seriously! we need more jokes in that place, or any kind of jokes really. Or at least the kind of jokes that will not get you kicked out, because you know! We would not want to offend anybody.

I happened to make a comment about being bored waiting for hubbie to come home and said I was *xxx*ually stimulated and the other females were saying I had no class. But close to T/C
I'm like what the ... just stating a mood that most women are too closed up about.

I should've just put down a FART joke ... wonder what they would've said to that.

To tell the truth. I am not sure what your talking about or why it would be prudish, it really sounds so mundane to me. But I do not think the people in chat are, um prudish, or at least not when I was in chat. Fart jokes, or sexual innuendos were the least of the things going on around there.

So ya no clue, cant help you there with that point, as I don't much hang around chat now a days.
