Holy random mess Batman.

Organize it somehow, it looks like one huge mess of colors to me.

I haven't read through the whole thread...but I still think the new home page is awful!

I vote for firing the designer before he makes any more changes!

Who is the designer by the way?

ATS this is awful, please hire another designer. Stop using 20 colors in your design, it is unprofessional.

www.abovetopsecret.com... just look at that thread on it

UGLY DESIGN = LESS MONEY, will that motivate you? There's been multitude of studies done; advertising design.

I can't even tell the new boxes apart. "Modern" designs usually don't use fonts with serifs! There is nothing modern about this. Hoenstly it looks like AOL in 1998, buncha boxes with no graphic content and GET A NEW DESIGNER. This is really your only option, the whole forum design is horrible. I guess he must be your friend or something but his work is not up to par.

People here are giving constructive criticism, you shouldn't be arguing it is organized if the majority of the people in this thread is saying it isn't. If people don't like the website looks you'll make less money, there is studies on this. New visitors are less likely to say with the front page.

It looks like a 4th grader was put in charge of redesigning it. Completely unprofessional looking.

Count me as one more who dislikes the new design. It just looks like a bunch of random boxes with no organization. I could do a better job myself...

I Super Saiyan hate the new front page. I can't stand it, I just jump to "Top Topics" or "New Topics"

And so far, the numbers are encouraging. More people are scrolling and clicking on more threads than with the previous design -- which had become dated by contemporary sensibilities.

The new design have positive and improving stats
so even if people dont like the new front page .. the stats are more important

It is only a first step to have people opinions
when ATS start doing big changes like this that mean .. its not finish

I think more updates will come so stay tuned

I would love to design a new look to the ATS website. It's pretty free-flowing now, but it can be improved like a few people have said. Some of it is too confusing where you need to hunt down the answers and people don't like to hunt for anything! That's where I'd make things very easy for the user.

Cosmetically and in content, it passes, but the inner workings of profiles and such, fails.

I see what you getting at SO and it seems like a change for the better to be honest, When i used to load the homepage i would only really look at the top topics as the others seemed in some way obsolete although i bet they were just as much as a "good read" as the topics that stood out.

The new homepage has the topics laid out in what i would consider a layout not unlike a newspaper which makes every topic easy to read without bias of the number of comments or flags a thread has, Also i imagine it will be easier to load on some browsers and ideal for mobile or phone devices.

Good call

People hate change we all know that. This though is more than that...My first impression was and still is " Oh dear, this is messy, cheap looking and lacks the shape and form of a page that promotes a site based on serious discussion and debate.

Something's wrong with the way your browser is rendering the page, we're not using Serif fonts.

Can you post a screen shot.

Also, if you have JavaScript disabled... the page WILL look like ass.

Are you using HTML5 embedded fonts? I think older versions of IE won't render those...

Aaaaah, nooooo, I can't handle this, everything is changing!!! I hate change. Change is foreign and alien (question to self, I am on a conspiracy site aren't I? Yes. Good then - so pun intended). Please, no more. I want things to stay the same. Same is safe, same is sound, same is good. Same is comforting, predictable and assuring. Just as night follows day. So no change please, we're Homosapien.

Right, now that my rant is over I can get back to plotting how to change the world...

By-the-way, the new look is starting to grow on me now that I've had a little time to get used to it. In fact, the more time that passes, the more I forget what it was before and the more it feels like it has always been this way. Ah, that's better...

The new layout completely threw me off, i was waiting for the page to finish loading thinking it was some kind of web or browser glitch, then I sadly told myself I would have to now get comfy with a new look, which seems cluttered and awkward. I am also really hoping this was a temporary thing.

Exactly what I did!! I was like, Oh man, it's not loading right. I reloaded several times and was very very confused.

Where the hell are the labels that distinguish between top topics versus popular ones??? They're gone. What a confusing mess of topics just thrown all over the place.

The reason I say that is that I usually don't bother with threads with loads of replies because they usually amount to trolling or just topics meant to provoke a response. In other words, a waste of time.

It'd be nice if we and ats could see stars next to replies here, so we could really gauge what people think. It's like ats is trying to avoid seeing what people really believe. Sure they allow comments, but voting with stars allows statistics to be formed without reading every single comment. Change this too along with the layout. It looks like things are just muddled all onto one page and not separated into two distinct, LABELED columns.

THanks for considering our thoughts.
