You are wrong re the ISS...it's from STS 80 & these are not ice crystals!
The ice theory gets shot down by science. No small body of ice, let alone water can exist alone in space. If small bits of ice were floating about space, they should dissolve very quickly under intense, not mild, radiation & energy from the sun.
So what are these supposed "ice crystals" doing existing in space, & why are they not dissolving from our view in a matter of seconds as they should?
You & NASA can not explain this..but since I was the one (full disclosure Buzz..AKA Martyn Stubbs) who pulled it out of space via satellite originally, I will give it a try!

...based on my own experience in Mission Control and in long discussions with folks who are understandably confused by these bizarre videos.
Thank you for that explanation. I have seen a lot of footage of this type of phenomenon and I agree with you about lighting, shadows, focus, tumbling objects (like ice from thruster cones and droplets of fuel) etc., etc. Mostly these objects have a steady track as well, only changing direction like when thrusters fire.
Having said that what does your valued experience tell you about the object that appears to stop and hover in one place? If you watch this YouTube of the same event, it goes on to say that even the astronaut zooms in on it as it gets further away. I believe and I debunk and I cannot explain this one... (at 4:00)
Over to you , over.

Martyn, I've suggested that dots 'materializing' are nearby objects emerging from the shuttle's shadow. What is your response to that? What illumination conditions do you propose we are seeing in these scenes?

First, I am of the opinion that this sequence you posted during this thread, the STS-80 UFO circle formation over Africa, is of paramount significance, because it reveals to us intelligence, communication, timing, architecture & design. ... I agree with you..."floating debris" could not form this, nor could it stop, hold it's position & then illuminate! Even stranger is NASA's lack of any commentary as they & the world watch it happen, live.
