Homeland Security Report Lists ‘Liberty Lovers’ As Terrorists

A new study funded by the Department of Homeland Security characterizes Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority,” and “reverent of individual liberty” as “extreme right-wing” terrorists.

Entitled Hot Spots of Terrorism and Other Crimes in the United States, 1970-2008 (PDF), the study was produced by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism at the University of Maryland. The organization was launched with the aid of DHS funding to the tune of $12 million dollars.

The report takes its definitions from a 2011 study entitled Profiles of Perpetrators of Terrorism, produced by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism, in which the following characteristics are used to identify terrorists.

- Americans who believe their “way of life” is under attack;

- Americans who are “fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to universal and international in orientation)”;

- People who consider themselves “anti-global” (presumably those who are wary of the loss of American sovereignty);

- Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority”;

- Americans who are “reverent of individual liberty”;

- People who “believe in conspiracy theories that involve grave threat to national sovereignty and/or personal liberty.”

I'm glad the DHS is conducting such valuable research to help us discover the real threats to this country. It turns out that our forefathers were terrorists, and that the 4th of July is a terrorist holiday. I'd suggest not celebrating it. Also, stop visting or posting on ATS, as that is a very suspicious activity.

Just go about your daily lives as if nothing was wrong. Don't draw unnessasary attention to yourself. Remember: Slavery is Freedom.

I never had a doubt. I knew this from way back in 08. The movie Southland tales is a great insight to the America on the elite agenda. If they want to call me a terrorist, then so be it, I am proud to be a freedom loving terrorist. If they want to call us "terrorist" then perhaps we need to act like terrorist.

The most concerning thing about this, to me, is that one is now considered a terrorist simply for holding certain beliefs (in the absence of action).

On must think correctly to not be a "terrorist."

This, in itself, is the most frightening thing of all.

I don't think they are clueless at all, I think they know exactly what they are doing.

They must be scared that the truth does still has a chance to use the term 'terrorist' for those that look for it and not afraid to question authority.
