You should call your local news station.
Ask them if they are aware of the problem.
Are your friends reporting any kind of smell associated with the cloud?

Your video's are interesting and a little bit scary. You should film more of that situation, but do it from indoors. Who knows whats in that fog, especially if you're having a hard time breathing.

I´ve just phoned to a few friends in the area and they all say the same..

Trouble breathing and zero visibility.

Weird that there´s nothing in the news yet..

Yeah that doesn't sound normal to me. Maybe you should head in the opposite direction, at least for a while. Phone the hospital and ask/report whats happening, if other people are having the same problems. I've never heard of fog/low cloud doing that to people, it does look pretty ominous.

That's just it.......I've only heard of them on Saturn! I'd definitely be taking brisk walk or drive the other way for a while.

I won't make the obvious answer... But will offhand refer to it in the following statement. Obviously, a cloud of ammonia would not be a safe thing to be around.

Probably a little extreme, but yeah.....we don't have natural ammonia clouds here.....weird to say the least!

Edit: Lightning storm!......Damn, you gotta get footage of that, from a distance just to be safe!
edit on 3/7/12 by Stonesplitter because: storm

Dude, I would just film it right where you are, I wouldn't go near that cloud, not if your cousin says that it smells like ammonia. I would stay far far away from that thing.

Go and film it. So what. Is nothing, don't worry a be happy. The borg will like to assimillate. Resistance is futal.
See if you can film the borg when they come out of the cloud.

Until you mentioned lightning, I was thinking smog.

Smog is is low-lying cloud (fog).
Smog can smell like ammonia (which is often one of its main components).
Smog is definitely hard to breathe in at times.

But smog should NOT be any sort of condition for lightning to occur. In fact, smog should be the exact opposite of what's necessary for lightning to occur.

Of course, Venus is one giant ball of smog and lightning occurs there on a regular basis. So, who knows...maybe some special conditions exist under which smog and lightning can coexist.

That's because ammonia reacts with vehicle emissions to form smog. It doesn't form clouds on its own.
