Given volcanoes produce new land, is it possible Yahweh was described as 'the creator' due to the ancient Hebrews watching agog through ignorant and superstitious eyes at a volcano spewing out material that suddenly set into new land?

You don't see the point in raising awareness that the origins of the biggest religous group in history lie in volcanic activity?

Most religions rely on myth and legend... and seem to overlook obvious contradictions and errors within their texts...

Do you believe you're going to convince these people they worship a volcano?

Or perhaps you're trying to win converts to your own "volcano" religion?

Theres a flying spagetti monster religion floating around too believe it or not...

IF you hope to win converts you might want to point to some texts backing your claim...

At least the church of the flying spagetti monster has their own scripture... (made up on the fly mind you..)

I know I can convince people because it convinced me.

I aim to convert people away from the worship of imaginery volcano gods. Did you not understand that? Maybe my posts are not fool proof.

Now i'm not saying i believe this (not religious to begin with) but that doesnt mean it isn't a valid question to be asked.

I must say you sound pretty demeaning about this.

Did you look into it at all before commenting?

I can't think of anything more important than raising awareness of this given the number of people in the world who have built a life around it. I am sure the residents of Hawaii are happy they are no longer praying to their volcano god nor making ritual sacrifices to it. I imagine they didn't let go of it easily but I'm sure they benefited from being mentally freed from the myth. They nay also be a bit embarassed that their ancestors worshipped a volcano....but then so did all residents of volcanic areas.

Or am I wrong? Are there people here who believe the world is a better place with all the ritual animal sacrifices that go on in the Jewish and Muslim world? Is that suited to our modern and supposedly civilised world? Is that fitting with what Jesus would have wanted? Is that something you can explain away to your own kids at bedtime you..........

yes i get that...

but i don't believe theres any evidence that Mt. Sinai was a volcanic mountain... IF people seek volcano worship, wouldn't they just find a Volcano?... Mt Ararat is relatively close by.... And there are none in Egypt or close by for that matter as far as i know...

Imo the world would be far better off without any religion at all. At least, the way the world works now, we would be.
I would never teach my kids about religion myself since i would be unable to. My children would have to find out for themselves how we got here and what their ideas of it all are, since my own beliefs (ET intervention / planet hopping) is not something i will force onto them either. Even though the scriptures could very well be describing these exact events, depending on how you interpret them.

If you cared to read the 70 odd posts on my blog (which can easily be found by anyone doing any research on the subject...which you clearly have not done) then you will find the answers to many questions and will understand why it is I am 'on a mission'.

You are demeaning. You dismiss my ideas without having done any research into them. That is not just demeaning but arrogant. You make little statements that you think can disprove my theory but inadvertently prove you've not investigated the theory.

Alright... show your evidence that there is any volcanoes in that area... While you're at it... show some evidence of any volcanic material around Mt.Sinai...

I don't need to disprove anything... the burden of proof lies with the person that makes the claim...

So you have no interest in finding out what my extensive theory entails but are very interested in belittling it every time I post something about it?

By the way clever clogs.....what are these and where are they?
