Most things are next to impossible to prove. People get confused about this because they think that evidence and proof are the same thing.

It's far easier to lump Christians all together and point towards evangelists as the norm.

In case you did not notice, which you didn't. I mentioned the various different sects of christianity, I just have zero energy to type out 20-40 different beliefs.

I noticed, thanks for the information. You seem to hold more anger inside than love. I hope you find what you are looking for in life. Good luck sir.

Some can't believe in something greater than themselves.....

Really? I have not heard that one before, you made me recoil into my pit of ignorance and feces.

No, you simple minded imbecile! I am not so arrogant that I believe nothing is greater than me.

Faith in the religious sense is a disease that needs to be eradicated and not embraced. Anyone who has been killed in the name of a deity would probably tell you before they died that they do not understand why they are giving up their lives for these lost causes, but they did anyway. One of the only barriers that humanity has from evolving to the next level spiritually and technologically is religion. When people devote their entire lives to a fruitless endeavor and ridicule others because their religious beliefs are not right, that is WASTE of life.

Christians have multiple denominations, Muslims have different sects of Islam, Satanists have their differences, and so on. For people to spend their lives arguing over whose sector is correct, I pity all of you for wasting your lives.

People, we are here to enjoy our lives. We are already restricted politically, financially, and vocationally, do you really want to impose more restrictions on your life? Love your family, treat people equally and that's it.

Thanks for the insult. What restrictions am I imposing on my life, and let me remind you it's my life, and I am free to do with it as I wish. If you want to believe in nothing than good for you. You act as though I sit in a cathedral and pray all day, wasting my life away.

You mean to tell me theres religious people who are practical in regards to their faith and its only a small aspect of their life? OH MY GOD THE SHOCK!!!!

"Places tin foil hat on subject's head"

Okay, now I am getting irritated because you fail to read before you criticize. At no point did I say anything about the amount of time in one's life it consumes. At no time did I say anyone sits around in a church all day. Read before your fingers hit the damn keyboard.

How can you defend yourself properly when you cannot be bothered to read.

And you assume there are not? I always loved conspiracy sites So many people think they are unique snowflakes who are wide awake in a sea of ignorance . I believe it makes some of you feel special as if youre in some elite club that's in the know on a given matter and you cant help but stroke your own ego over it.

As someone already pointed out your running with a wide assumption that religious folks all sit in a temple all day praying and reading their holy books

Really its shocking to you despite in the entire course of humanity has been riddled with one conflict after another?
You really think religion is the cause of this and the removal of it wouldn't create a void that would quickly be filled even though for example we see people being inspired to do heinous things over philosophical works over music over tv even over who makes the best koolaid!

One could logically conclude the problem is humanity and our ever present war like nature that has prevented us from attaining this development you speak of. This would be called seeing the bigger picture but you have clearly allowed your judgment to be clouded because you have a bone to pick with religion.

Precisely and i love how an argument over religion turns into a lets moan about Christianity or Islam thread . Apparently the Abrahamic faiths are the totality of religion . and not only do all Christians have to answer for the wrongs of the past and present but apparently the religions who aren't associated with them do as well.

Either you are an idiot, or you suffer from selective exposure. I indicated at the top of this thread in the original post, items of religious belief other than abrahamic systems. Instead of being counter productive and commenting just to comment or pick, why don't you actually contribute and say something of substance.

In other words, because I have the audacity to stand up to people and ask questions people do not feel comfortable asking or because you view me as an individual void of any substance, family, friends, home, or any value, you think I am a waste of life? Did I say you were a waste of life? No.

How about you actually take the time to criticize objectively instead of attacking people for breathing. I am just as valuable a human being as you are sir.

More like: some people can't believe how great they truly are. We are more than the sum of our visible parts.

I can prove the existence of all entities: humanity and the cosmos. It contains all the "bad ones" and the "good ones", and many of their stories - real, sensational, or fictional. It contains the three basic stages that make up life, and we can see it in almost everything, including stars: formation (creation), existence (preservation), destruction (rebirth). That cyclical nature is eternity. Dogma doesn't matter, what matters is that we are all here, a collection of molecules that came together to form a vehicle for consciousness, that can be used to observe and experience life.

What squabbling religious people don't understand is love, which sees all as beautiful, perfect, and one. Yes it's holding us back, no it won't hold us back forever.

I never said anything bad about your character. I simply pointed out what you had written. I do not think you are a bad person, and if you go through life not believing in religion that is your choice. You had written that people are wasting their lives, which is your opinion, when people come and defend the claims you seem to take it as a personal attack. I am stating how I feel about religion in my life.

What would it take to prove God exists to you? If I could take you to a place where he existed I would. The fact is that Christianity is based upon faith. If there was a way to simply show you that He exists than everyone would believe, thus taking faith completely out of the picture.

I would like to start off by saying with regards to this matter, that I have read the bible, Qur'an, and the Mormon bible, so ultimately I read before I criticize, and after I have put the books down and analyzed what I had read, I laughed uncontrollably because I cannot understand why people choose to believe in such absurd stories to validate their own existences, to raise a family under and so forth.

You mentioned nothing of the sort.
You immediately went on with the usual fixation on the Abrahamic faiths and did not venture into anything else. You read three books out of a vast amount of religious textbooks out there yet you are trying to present yourself as informed.

I'm just saying at least chastise hare krishnas or jainists for a change. Bring something new to the table for once.

Its normal for human's to create something bigger and badder than them, Human are made to follow and keep under obedient so its normal to think "something big is out there"...

its just like how ancient ancestors were afrad of "something in the dark".... They weren't sure about it but they were afraid of it because they can;t see it... same with faith, and religion.. or the big bad aliens that must be highly advanced than us concept.

In your OP you stated that you have read the various holy books. My question is, do you feel that reading is sufficient to be considered an authority on a subject or should there be some level of comprehension and understanding along with discernment to accompany your formulation of opinions?

Islam is not abrahamic. I have read more than three religious texts, and quite frankly I have researched hare krishna, and I find the system to which they operate in to be slightly better than that of abrahamic sectors. The truth is, with the hare krishna ideal, has anyone been killed in the name of krishna or in any of their ideals? The answer is an emphatic no.

I chose what I chose because most of the major religious problems on the planet come from these areas so therefore, they take the brunt of the blame.
