There was a USAF RC-135 in the area at the time of the shoot down. It apparently recorded the entire thing, but it won't be released because of classification issues where the -135 is concerned.

According to a comment on another article on the blog, the RC-135 was using an ADS-B transponder, and was tracked on live-mode-s.info.

The latest new release by the Turkish Military really makes things interesting. The remains of the aircraft recovered from the surface of the ocean show any evidence of organic or inorganic explosive residue, fire initiator or accelerator substances which are derivatives of petroleum, or sign of ammunition remnant.

This means that there is no evidence that the aircraft was shot down, and that it was a technical malfunction that caused the loss of the aircraft. The weird part is that the aircraft turned towards Syria before crashing into the ocean. The crew had enough time to react to some]/b] event, which means they should have had time to radio a mayday if it was a technical problem.
