No, they were "collectivized" - confiscated by the State "on behalf of the people and for the good of the revolution". Most of the family farms were not "businesses" per se, they were just small farms to feed a family, although some of the produce from them sometimes found it's way to roadside "markets".

I don't go there very often - it's too close to Sweden, and I think I've been banned from Sweden for pissing off some "Faltskog" being that claimed to be a woman. I'd hate to accidentally cross a border while jogging and get tossed into a Swedish prison!

I agree that that is sad and certainly not the way to do things. Whenever the state takes something it is never for the people, regardless of what they say. We really need to rework/reword some things.

Nah, not really - I think. I really did tick off an individual claiming the name "Faltskog", who also claimed to be female and claimed to be a NASA scientist and claimed to be a Swedish citizen - none of which was really true, as it turned out, but I don't think Sweden would really jail me over it - they might give me a medal!

The story of that encounter is told in the book my signature links to. It was an ATS investigation of a hoax perpetrated by this "Faltskog" person.

A form of True Communism may be the future of mankind ... But the forms that exist today are as corrupt as fascism / capitalism ..
So youre not really getting anything positive for your efforts ..

Did you know the fascist and communist movements were both planed funded and implemented by financial operatives from the City of London ?

Did you know they were created to cause a dead lock of competing ideologies in order to maintain control by the elite financiers ?

The reason the two systems were financed is because the capitalist class wanted instability in Europe, one to weaken the power of the working class, and two to lay the foundations for war, very profitable for capitalists.

It was not because they supported those systems. Capitalists will support whatever makes them the most profit at any given time.

While I am not a Communist,I have been to Russia before,and I found it a wonderful country.

Moscow is something to see that is for sure! One of the funniest things I was told by one of my guides is that I 'should tell people I am from Canada and not the USA' only to have a Russian couple come up to me directly and ask me if I was 'from California',they said that my accent reminded them of 'Fast times at ridgemont high' HAHA.

I replied,yes I am originally from California,but I have lived in the Seattle area for the last 25+ years.

Honestly,I would not mind living in Moscow.

I just wanted to thank you for all your posts in this thread ANOK, its wonderful to hear left wing alternative views in the sea of right wing pro-capitalism on ATS. Your posts are always informative and backed up with links, I have enjoyed reading them.

True Communism will only work under a righteous Theocracy.
I.E: GOD comes to man in His perfectness and rules in Truth and righteousness.
Religion is man trying to appropriate the same aims but on his own terms agendas and levels.
Until GOD intervenes, all we have is our own 'religious' models by which to grip and pursuade humanity of our 'divine understanding' of which very little is 'understanding', and even less, 'divine'.
