Meaning they are studying this in order to develop a weapon against us?

Should we panic yet? Do we run? Where should we hide?!!

I thought the Catholic Priests found the protein first with little boys?

J/K....this will be weaponized and used to age a country. Not far fetched that the Japanese could kill off the entire planet by aging everyone to leave the world to themselves.

Yeah there is some weird things those guys do.
I saw once a 90 year old jap doing his daily bits in a local park.
That include running and so forth. Amazing!

Most probably. Everything is a weapon against us but most do not know it...
I think we should not panic we should get angry...

Unfortanatly there is no where we can hide.

I kinda think that life-extension science is a bad idea. The planet is already heavily overpopulated, and women keep having babies. On a macro level, we need old people to die off at a faster rate than new babies are created, or women need to stop having so many babies. While both babies and old people are incredibly frustrating, old people can at least communicate and tell good stories. So, I think women need to cease and desist on the baby output. Have all the sex you want, but take the pill; It's a lot less expensive than raising children.

There are plenty of planets and moons in our solar system that we, if we put our mind and resources toward it can terraform to be habitible for life. We know basically how to do it we just need to do it. Yes it is expensive but ultimately humanity must grow away from earth in order for us to survive long term. Ever species that has ever inhabitited earth has gone extinct at some point. We can use our advanced brains to make sure we are the first of Earth creatures to carry on for ever.

Not to mention having expanded life spans would allow people to go to other Solar systems and possibly populate those as well.

Believe in god or not most of his miracles are explainible through natural things that happen. Sure he may have cause those things to happen. Perhpas heaven will be built by us. Perhaps eternal life will be accomplished through the miricle oo the brain god created for us.

I agree, but you have to realize that the more the Earth is overpopulated, he more it forces scientists and researchers to find other places for us to go. Remember - necessity is the mother of invention.

Ah, where to begin, where to begin? If women would just stop that nasty little habit of theirs, then there would be less babies to frustrate young males. It would be a lot less expensive for young males too! That way, young males could still continue to have all the sex they wanted with none of the bother of consequences.

Sex need not have consequences. You can dance around that whole "it takes two" argument, but it's the woman who physically has to incubate and give birth, so if they want to avoid pregnancy, they should take birth control. To be fair, I think the men should have to kick in the cost of the pill. It comes down to this... if you want to have sex, but don't want a baby, take the pill. Then, everyone can enjoy all the sex they want and the whole baby issue is taken out of the picture.

What would you say to those religious people who refuse to take any type of protection??

They are popping out babies left, right and center ATM!!

So your premise is that, once we burn through Earth's resources, we should move on to another planet to continue the process of consumption and depletion. You are incorrect in saying that every species on Earth has become extinct. Humans and every other creature currently on the Earth have not gone extinct. In fact, the only animals that have become extinct are the ones that aren't around anymore. Your arrogance about Humans and the idea that we should work to ensure that, as a species, we carry on forever is absolutely amazing. We haven't even learned how to co-exist on this planet.

Ahh, you're a Christian. That explains the arrogance. I always find it amusing when Christians try to integrate science with their fable and fairytale-laden reality. Do you not see the paradox in believing in an anthropomorphized God (who must of have been a man himself since he supposedly created all of us in his image) and the realities of modern science? I don't even know how you begin to reconcile that.

I think your line of reasoning is romantic and idealistic, but far from reality. Deliberate depopulation by the top 2% is more likely since they are the ones that fund the scientists. It is a common misconception that science, as a whole, is a benevolent and noble calling. On the contrary, science is probably the most corrupt industry in the world.

I'd first recommend that they lose the religion and acquire some common sense. If they can't do that, they should only engage in sexual activity for the purpose of procreation.

the earth is NOT overpopulated. the reason behind so many people living in extreme poverty is greed.

women need to? babies and old incredibly frustrating? cease and desist? take the pill? how about you cut off your wonkie-donkey to make sure noone in the future will say things like that?

and it's the scientists spreading overpopulation BS that need to die off.

The Earth IS overpopulated, and is getting worse by the day. There are simply not enough natural resources to sustain a population of 6+ billion. To answer your other concerns:

1) Yes, women should take birth control pills if they don't want to have a baby.
2) Babies are frustrating. Ever been stuck on a plane with a crying baby? How bout a movie theater when some inconsiderate jackass decides that James Cameron's latest blockbuster is an appropriate place to bring a toddler?
3) Old people are frustrating. They are terrible drivers, responsible for more car accidents each year than newly licensed teenagers. They cling to antiquated ideas, and are grouchy. And they smell funny (recently proven by science).
4) Me and my "wonkie-donkey" don't engage in activity that would result in pregnancy.

The chances are that most probably most of the world will blow themself up soon enough.
The government will control the population do not worry.
Funny because thats what kick started AIDS.
But at the moment the increase in natural and man made disasters is showing a decrease in the population.

Humans are high maintenance, they destroy too much of the world's resources in their quest for an easy life. We have killed off most of our natural preditors and eliminated many diseases which brings up survival of our offspring. I'm not going to say humans have no purpose here on earth, only that we have abused our world just to make life easier. It is better to extract the oil from the earth than to kill all the whales. We still are not even beginning to curb the environmental impact that man needs to curb. I guess we will have to learn the hard way how messed up we are.

I think we'd all be a lot better off if we didn't have religion telling us that we're God's gift to the planet. Too many people suffer from an indoctrinated religious delusion that the entire universe exists solely for our benefit.
