No.

Obama is still hiding under his desk.

Oh ya?

I remember Bush ACTUALLY hid from the public when the economy died in 2008.

Like Actually

Lets just follow Texas and see what happens.

I think you are overreacting. Tort reform is a good thing and long overdue.

There is not a single liberal idea that isn't a good thing and long overdue..
The argument against such stuff is its not constitutional..its communism, etc.

You are defending a communist push because you find value in it...how is that any different than the things you oppose and claim is socialism/marxism? its the same damn thing...

Do you stand on principle, to deny any form of socialism, even if it clearly good..or is it a sliding scale based on worth? Its time you take a stand and decide how you think verses having blinders on and pretend you have a stance while being a hypocrite.

My personal stance..some socialism is required in a society so long as it is studied well and risk minimal...Tort reform is on the same level as healthcare...but reform benefits corporations more than people (limits payout, makes the process harder..so, very much benefits pharma and large medical corps)...socialism for the top is still socialism.

Thanks for the bump!

I noticed how you claimed I was spouting "lunacy" and "illogic", and was being "short sighted", but utterly failed to counter it or even show just where you think it is...

I'll bet there's a reason for that....

Will counter it with a simple phrase:
United we stand.

Contemplate that..it has intrinsic value.

Health care costs are spiraling out of control. We have to do something.

It has worked out well for Texas.

Lets follow Texas.

I'm always happy when 'democrats' get mad over the democratic process despite a huge media campaign to demonize Walker he still wins!

And not even the fake Koch prank Kall could not ruin Walker's reputation.

Makes folks a lot easier to mow down, too - all the targets are conveniently in one place.

It's OK - I've never been a big fan of Lincoln, either. That whole "war in the streets" thing he sparked off with such illogical nonsense was a little offputting.

So you are going to counter my alleged "illogic" with a 150 year old speech phrase, instead of injecting "logic"?

How about if I just contemplate THAT, instead?

No! Don't skip to the end.

The CNN guys explains exactly why Gov. Scott Walker won!

Voter turnout was booming all over Wisconsin!

------------
That CNN reporter was getting mobbed by those losers!

Can you imagine if that was a Fox News reporter ???

I never understood how an employee of the american people (payed by tax dollar) could have a union to demand higher and higher pay from the tax payer.....

Then you end up with people like the guy recently in the headline of california, who was crying because his pension got cut from $110,000 a month to $45,000 a month. And the Illinois teachers union where the top officials had million + dollar pensions.

I am for unions when needed to get fair pay. But when they don't stop at fair or even great and keep going for more and more........and it's the tax payer who pays their check...........

There are a few points in this thread that really strike me as odd. It seems like there are several people who think the economy is in the tank because of liberal ideology, but being that this is ATS I'm sure we have all seen the threads that illustrate the whole banking conspiracy and market manipulation. I see the whole Wisconsin debacle as a continuation of the divide and conquer tactic. Obviously there is plenty of petty blaming we can partake in -- liberals feel entitled to "ridiculous" benefits, whereas the conservatives want to balance the budget and exercise the protestant boot-strap work ethic.

In case anyone did not realize this, we work harder and more hours in the contemporary technological times than pre-industrialized times. Work days were several hours long, and working two days in a row was rare and in some cases socially taboo. Yet here we are with the capacity for doing so much more in so much less time, and we are actually working more and enjoying life less. This is not about people feeling entitled to vacation days and good pay -- it is about the fact that all this productivity is being absorbed by a small group of people who then turn us against one another in this exact type of distraction.

It honestly blows my mind that so many people on ATS blame "socialists" for the economic woes of the country. Please read some more threads about the Federal Reserve and fractional reserve banking, then perhaps reconsider why our economy is in its current state.

"Democracy is dead"?

They think that would be a BAD thing?

From over here, it looks like the "democracy" they so seem to cherish worked exactly as advertised - the majority told the minority to go piss up a rope.

NOW they're unhappy with their much-touted "democracy"?

I guess maybe "democracy" is only a good thing if you find yourself in the majority....

why would union busting not go peacefully? is it by chance that the union thugs will try to threaten and intimidate people like they have been doing for at least 10 years now?so the unions default is to start waning to bust knee caps when they loose is that what you were trying to say or did i read and interpret your post incorrectly?

This had to be done.

Now unions will be put in their place all over America.

BTW, can you actually see Obama returning to Wisconsin in October 2012 asking

them for their votes???

Let's abolish all unions and let the corporations determine what is fair pay with no min. wage, no retirement, no health care, and to hell with safe working conditions, and no regulations on any company..after all they are "people" now and will treat their fellow humans with dignity and respect.

Unions here in the US have a tendency to "bust" themselves. they demand too much, and wind up breaking the backs of the People who are the original source of their money, who can no longer afford to keep them up in the style to which they want to be accustomed.

Then, when that happens, Big Daddy in DC has to shovel in loads of public moneys just to keep them afloat,,, i.e. "bail them out".

It's gone on for a lot longer than the last 10 years. When I was a kid (yes, even THAT long ago!) I saw directly the antics of the UMWA and the teamsters. Ambushes were common, as were shootings and just generally burning stuff and tearing it up.

I'm not sad to see them go.

so now all of a sudden democrats( i could be wrong about you being a democrat and if so i will apologize) want to make voter fraud not possible and by extension require ids to vote like Arizona and several other states want to do but when those states try to do it its called racist as its just republicans trying to keep people from voting? does this mean that bolth parties are now gonna be for voter id programs to make sure the dead and illegal immigrants cant get votes?

Lets follow Denmark..they are top on everything

You have no principles, you have no stances...politics to you is simply rooting for a sports team verses a consideration for the countries path. If Republicans tomorrow said their platform is strictly for clubbing seals and sniffing glue, you would be fully on board without any consideration..because you don't stand for a principle, you stand for a party. This is clear with your continued justification of the socialist move for tort reform, but oppose socialist ideas if it comes from a different party.

I often wonder how some people can justify themselves in their own mind.
Then I realize
They don't bother trying.

So, any old ideas are bad ideas then?
United we stand is bad, because its 150 years old...
So..thoughts on the older thoughts then? Constitution? Bible?

If I remember correctly, you are the one that also refuses to go to a hospital under any circumstance..just fix it yourself or die.
Well, at least your consistent.
Whats your view on the socialist desires known as Tort Reform? Are you anarchy for all, or just the little people?
