What would the world be like if America and her military ceased to exist at this moment?

I have been reading a great deal about my country's evils and seeing those evils being laid at the feet of the american people,So now is your chance.We're gone.Go crazy.
How much better will you be without our war mongering crazy military industrial complex.Show us your vision genuises. Don't slam me or the US about what has already happened.Show me the future after.

And then Israel and South Korea would be wiped off the map, prompting the EU the UN and NATO to make some very tough decisions.

EDIT: China would take the place of the US, possibly allied with other "rogue" nations like Iran and North Korea.

It would go from bad to worse, or nothing would really change.

We got to see exactly what it would look like in New Orleans when Katrina hit.

Gangsters and hoodlums would be taking what they want from people unable to defend themselves. It would probably begin with China and Russia moving unimpeded into the Middle East and grabbing all the oil.

Not really that complicated, is it?

Most likely it would be out with the old boss and then in with the new boss, same as the old boss. Doesn't matter who is the alpha of the world, we (humans) seem to be tragic by nature.

My example: Human history.

If it's gone overnight then there would be a massive power vacuum. And as we all know nature abhors a vacuum. Either a big player will fill it and knock out the competition or many small players will fight over parts of it.

Muslim radicals would go crazy on Israel without US backing. China would quickly mobilize in the Pacific. Some Canadians and mostly Mexicans would quickly re-colonize the place the united states was situated on.


Probably a bunch of other stupid wars involving Russia, EU countries, muslim countries and China.

Same old same old, just different faces for the evil to be pinned on.

Let's face it. The planet would be pure hell.

I would have to agree - Russia and China would duke it out for world supremecy. Even if they were initially allied, they would eventually "need" to battle it out for the number 1 spot. Either that or the world would eventually be run by Sharia law and all non conformists would be executed (as well as anyone in the LGBT community), women would either become property or corpses, and children would be taught...differently.

I would hope that in the ashes of the fall of civilization that there would arise pockets of resistance and eventually the repressers would be overtrown.

You're right that the force that holds China and Russia together is the USA. Without that threat Russia would probably try to take over Europe and the Mediterranean and China would probably go after the pacific and Africa.

If they adventure into the middle east they'll probably have as much fun with it as America did.

I bet that both of them would resist creeping Sharia more effectively than America, though.

After they have extended their control over their natural zones of expansion their relations between them would probably start to deteriorate and they'd start a cold war eventually.

You would just need to read the 3 book series "After America" by John Birmingham which is all about what the world would be like without America set on the eve of the 2003 Iraqi war.

If was after WW2, some would be sucking on commie flavored lollipops,,if now,I could see chowmein on the menu.
Humans have always been at war.

We see how well Russia handled the Soviet union.
We see also many human rights issues in China,they have alot more problems than most think.
Then we got certain whacko religions also.
Horror in some African countries.
The list goes on.

I think the whole world is a sad place.

You think it would be better if North Korea took over as the "big boy on the block".?
Or let islam take over?

If a big comet hit the mideast,Russia or China and wiped out everything,,,we would all fee pain, and not be jumping for joy.
Alot of nations have differences, but anyone with common scense don't want every one dead in them who they despise,,but there are nut balls who do.

Either way,,atrocities would still happen and wars.

Look at religious wars,each side thinks their right and just.
Like a pro boxer,,someone is always wanting to knock you down and take your belt.

You should ask something more on the lines of...

"WW2 ends, the allies are victorious without the help of the Americans.
Sadly the greatest country on earth that has contributed so much, is weakened. Britain taking alot of damage has to repair and rebuild in a few years time it will be evident it is no longer a super power.
Now what?"

"what would the world look like if America joined WW2 at the start instead of coming in years later and reaping all the rewards."

if america was suddenly gone religions would fight for the lead role, china-russia-brittian and which other countries want world power would nuke each other to oblivian. Africa would fastly starve off. mexico would come from the south movign north, russia or china would come from the north moving south a power war play wouold occur the winning nation would take over the ripe lands of america and control the world foods. the world would be insalved worse then it already is

I dont know about you guys but it would be a great chance for me to start a revolution.

If the U.S. magically disappeared all of a sudden we would obviously miss alot of exportvalue... but former U.S. trading zones and trade agreements would also disappear, opening lots of new markets for us.

The power vacuum thereby created would be extremely worrying though.

Frankly, if our military ceased to exist for some reason I believe the citizens of this country would grab the baton and defend our homeland.

Most of us are very well-armed.



Protect the Second Amendment

I think its a good point.

China could be worse.
I think we want Americans to take back their Governments and be better. At least as good as America had things running in the 90s.

I think most of us prefer America deep down because when you were little we liked Captain America not Captain China.

For me,being a socialist,I see America as wanting to make every single thing privatized. In the 80s my country,Australia had public owned utilities and it was pretty good. I see us as folling America since then and having nothing owned by the public.

Then I see Argentina nationalize oil and it gives me hope that socialism is possible. America is the least socialist country ever. We will never have socialism under them,everthing will be sold off to billionaires.

I see socialism as more likely under a world dominated by China. Im sure you are no socialist but thats my big thing. I see America as taking too much from the world and not giving enpough back.

But you are right,things could be worse. The reason I have felt so strong about it lately os because of America making China annoyed but the big thing is Austerity. I think without nationalization all of us western nations willl end up being crap for most of us because of austerity.

But I see you point It could be worse for sure. I think more people are getting ready to roll the dice though.
