The insulated, self-important Occupy protesters – with whom Chicago Teachers Union leaders recently declared their “front and center” allegiance – risk developing post traumatic stress disorder, according to their leaders.

I don't know what to say.

Occupy Chicago explains the warning signs in another document titled “Crisis Fact Sheet: 10 Ways to Recognize Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder”:

- Feeling “emotionally numb.”

- Crying uncontrollably.

- Isolating oneself from family and friends and avoiding social situations.

- Relying increasingly on alcohol or drugs to get through the day.

- Feeling extremely moody, irritable, angry, suspicious or frightened.

- Feeling overwhelmed by what would normally be considered everyday situations and diminished interest in performing normal tasks or pursuing usual interests.

- Feeling guilty about surviving the event or being unable to solve the problem, change the event or prevent the disaster.

- Feeling fears and sense of doom about the future.

I thought they were suffering from these symptoms before they protested!

They should have joined the armed forces instead of OWS.
Then they could get PTSD treatment at a VA hospital....
and they would have someone to sue.

I guess Occupy can now be considered a disability.

Interesting.

Armed forces, they go where they are ordered to go.

Isn't Occupy a voluntary act?

Im not anti-occupy, but of all the whiny pansy assed things I have ever heard in my life.

Come on people, Grow the F up...

Oh I am sure all the Civil Rights protesters where bitching about PTSD... I swear if this generation was alive back than we would still have segregation.

Take your fire hose to the face like a Man for crying out loud.

Damn!!!

That sounds exactly like the 99%...
Almost everything listed there can relate to how we are all feeling on a daily basis with regards to how we have been controlled and manipulated all our lives by rich and power hungry scum who have no interest in anything but themselves...

Perhaps if we all go to the doctors with these symptoms, get signed off work as sick, claim disability allowance.. maybe then we can bring the rich to their knees as there would be nobody doing the running around for them..

Back in the old days we didn't call this PTSD...

It was called:

"Serves You Right. You Knew What You Were in For When You Signed on."
"Now Get Back Out There And Do Your Damn Job!"

And we did...

Peace

What Id like to know, is what they claim is the cause of the PTSD. Seeing too many people pooping in the bushes next to them? Too much second hand drug use?

indeed it is!
Oh, the price that veterans pay for substandard treatment at a VA hospital.
Then we hear OWS's whine....

You hate the Occupy movement.
You are posting something negative about them.

Seems credible. You must be on their private mailing list?

The smell of those around Them would be my guess.
Lack of personal hygiene will do that.

Let's just say that I would have gone about it a different way, but Occupy is not a dictatorship and pure democracy always leads to corruption and tyranny. They tried and still are, but people are better at manipulating people than those folks in Occupy.

I trust though most of those protestors hearts were in the right place, they just suffered the same fate as any society or assembly. Yet the story ain't over, time still goes on and I think giving up is going out of style. A lot of this criticism of Occupy though is no more than unfounded insults, propaganda and biased judgement. Some of it is true as well of course.

With that being said, I think any socio-political uprising in America is a good thing right now. We need to inject some chaos into this runaway system of order.
edit on 2-6-2012 by RSF77 because: (no reason given)

Does this mean that every pro-RP thread on this site posted by his supporters is not credible?

Tell me you see the logical fallacy in your insinuation.

I don't agree with Occupies message.
I'm posting the truth.

I'm only on Dick Cheney, John Stossel and Satans mailing list.

I think that we should call a wambulance to make sure that occupiers have the best in medical care during this extremely traumatic period of social unrest.

The conditions these occupiers are facing are absolutely deplorable...and rival the misery felt by those in third world countries and war zones.

Psychiatrists predict that these poor souls will lose the ability to speak and be forced to communicate only by hand gestures and rhyming chants.

Doctors are worried that these people will be cursed with camera phone induced arthritis and sandal foot.

All around, this is a generation of people that will need the upmost care and understanding...even more than our returning veterans.

As we all know...these people have been forced to stand up for ....?...stuff...that ...needs to change...uhhh...I think?

The list you gave are all signs of depression, not PTSD. Take it from someone that actually has PTSD. It usually exists in conjunction with depression, but the two are very different. Also, I think you need to look at more of the other sides to the story on the Occupy movement as it seems that you are focusing on the wrong sources. If they cannot even give a proper list of PTSD symptoms, than how trustworthy can they really be?
