You are right, all most people want is a roof over their head, food to eat, water to drink and a fire when required along with a few little luxuries etc.
Not asking for much in this day and age really and not unachievable given our resources and technology etc.

Unfortunately it's not 'most people' we have to be wary of.

For all the US's faults etc in such a scenario the world would be a far worse place.

For some reason some people seem to think that if China / Russia etc were the dominant world super power then they would be some sort of altruistic benefactor, history and common sense teaches us quite the opposite.

Of course the EU would help, Certainly Great Britain would

BUT!!!

I think we would probably wait for many years till the US was on its knees and financially f**ked and lost most of its over seas territory's before Europe should enter and ride in to save the day, and then we could go on to win the war all by ourselves, in the years to come after WW3 we should then go on to capitalise on the fact most of the world is in financial ruins and also rebuilding every single city in there country from the ashes.. we could then make hundreds of fact twisting war movies as a means of national pride & propaganda to drive up the recruiting of our military industrial complex, were going to need all the boots on the ground as we can get coming out of WW3 to rule the world, the longer it takes us to enter the better prepared we'll be and the better of and less scaved coming out

Can only speak for the UK but I don't think we need US support etc, but we live in a real world and it's better to have it than not.

We've shown that we are quite prepared to stand alone, let's just hope that we never none of us are ever in that situation again.

We simply have on occasion gone in and did the SH!T job nobody else wanted to do or cared for [Among all the other negative things we are guilty of]

Yeah. I think if we all stood alone it would be cool though.

And if I see a stranger getting bashed I will try to stop it. Im sure you would too.

I think the world should work like that.

If the US was attacked Im sure we would rush to help them.

I think we would all do the same for China. Or I hope we would.

I guess not having military allies isnt realistic. It would be nice if it was though.

I do blame the US Government alot.

I'm from the US, so naturally I lean more towards capitalism than socialism, but I see the merits of both schools of thought.

I mean as far doing their job for the people and not for tricky dick fun bills.

For what I can say is thats NATO's decision. Our country is a NATO member so when the time comes and the US Demands our participation in this war , I think that we as members have to send troops and material , rather we like it or not.. We as civilians only can protest on the side line with banners , or run to our shelters for incoming missiles with nuclear messages from the enemy....

in short we have nothing to say about it its all f...king politics......
