Yeah but come on that can’t be done in 24 minutes, and he also said that they were evacuated onto the same tarmac where the plane that was believed to be a security threat was sitting.

yeah, I just wanted to throw that in though. as for the timing, I haven't been to an airport in 17yrs. so i'm not sure how long it all takes anymore.

what seems odd to me is that people would be evacuated onto the tarmac where the suspected threat was at. Wouldn't they want the people as far away from the danger as possible, rather than actually moving them closer? The suspect aircraft from Air China was right behind OP's plane and OP boarded directly from tarmac after evacuation...doesn't add up to me

You ever think I was busy being evacuated and put back inside so I was a little more concerned about that than posting my stuff? I was writing it in real time on my phone on one post and didn't post it until we were all coming in. Obviously the time stamp isn't going to be perfect.

K I don't know how many times I have to say this. I didn't add up to anyone. The whole thing was poorly handled. I can only account for what happened around my gate, I don't know how the rest of the airport evacuated.

So first you are leaving out of gate C4, then you state you are on the plane and want to leave quickly. Then you state you didn't make it on the flight that left C4 at 1:10am.

So why not take your original flight that left on-time? (Actually left 4 mins early!)

Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport Departures

They must have one heck of a crew at ANC to evacuate an airport & still manage to get keep no major delays in departures & arrivals.

It's not strange at all actually. Airplanes still load and unload passengers from the Tarmac. Not very common to average flyers however. Once through the security checkpoint you have been cleared. The only way on to the Tarmac is through some kind of security. Therefore there is no need to send everyone back to security again. It's like taking a shower than stepping in a sterilized room then showering again when you leave. There's nothing to clean is there. So there may be a true story here after all. Let's remember while OP can not give evidence to support this, there is also no evidence to deem it a hoax. Until the former or latter is changed anything is possible.

I just got off the phone with the airport manager in anchorage (Lauren hughes) (907) 266-2690, it is confirmed that this morning two terminals were evacuated during the time frame that the OP first posted. Lauren said that the evacuation lasted "about 40 minutes". It was also not the entire airport, just two wings.
The funny thing to me is when I called I told her I was verifying an employees story as to why he was not on time. After I asked she told me to wait while she checked the days report. Now I understand it's a busy job but I think the airport manager would know off hand if there was an evacuation on her airport that very morning. Could mean nothing but Im just a suspicios person.
