I am a believer that collectively we manifest our own reality. This world we find ourselves in is shrouded in a sickness, we constantly battle to dominate one another in all aspects of our lives. Perhaps our world is becoming more and more sick until we eventually go into a state of anarchy and eat each other. Or perhaps mad cow disease just stepped up to a new level of chaos.

hmmm.. just a thought- hurricane season greatly affected the east coast last season- is it possible that because hurricanes run through the water that these chemicals were deposited on the land causes these incidents?

just a thought..

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Yes I believe so. Also the Gulf stream wrapping around Florida and up the coast as well as to the UK

Just read this article about the 5th flesh eating virus victim who apparently was fighting with his son and his son bit him several times and he later shot him.

They are apparently linking the flesh eating virus to the human bites.

WHY?

I wonder why they were fighting, more importantly what drove a father to shot his son with a shot gun- I feel like there are some key details missing within this story.

Prior to the fatal gunshot, Moody received several human bite wounds during the fight, believed to be the source of his serious infection.

Augusta man, Robert Moody, being treated for necrotizing fasciitis

This is peculiar to me, anyone else?

I myself think that culture's obsession with zombies surely has something to do with it.

It's similar to what'd happen if you habitually watched science fiction and nothing else for a month - you'd lose touch with reality and things would become crazy in terms of your thought processes...I once was so overwelmed with a coding project at work that I was actually coding in my sleep verbally, and would say something and my first thought was "CTRL+Z" to undo what I'd said...

Of course, sleep deprivation had something to do with there.

My point is, if someone thinks about something long enough, it doesn't necessarily manifest from thought, but the modification to the person's thought process is usually significant enough to change how they behave. Maybe these guys played a lot of zombie video games and once high or drunk or whatever, went nuts and acted out what they spent most of their time doing in front of a screen.

I'd also like to know if anything is transmitted in the saliva. If the crazy is from the crud in the ocean I imagine not..... But why are people biting/eating? If they're just getting angry and loosing their minds wouldn't they just stab or shoot? I feel like the mouth contact is significant.

So only the people along the East coast are obsessed to the point of hysteria? If so, the cases would be more spread out.

Just a theory, but even the subconcious permeation of zombies from the culture could be playing out here.

I suppose. At this point anything's possible, really. And I'll take any explanation other than zombies. They scare me more than spiders! Lol

I am willing to accept anything other than 'bath salts' alone- coupled with something in it that isn't 'supposed' to be there and I would accept it.

I agree, what you think is what you are. But I would also argue that the majority of people seem to be against the zombie idea as being plausible.. I mean media is using at a pop culture reference to gain audiences, and it's working- but I almost feel as if it's no different than going to see 28 days later, etc.

I think we are fascinated and scared by the thought of movies like that being true, and sure some could have psychotic breaks- but I don't think anyone wants to become a zombie- I think they want to kill a zombie. but I guess in order to do that there would have to be some, and someone's gonna have to do it.

I also think people don't believe it. There's a whole thread going on right now trying to prove it's a hoax. Life kind of has this sort of surreal feeling lately, I don't think people are either 1. fully aware (reading a headline or watching a 2 minute news story does not inform anyone, although they truly believe it does) or 2. fully understanding

I mean the one thing that strikes me as odd is everyone is so openly willing to blame something they can not prove. That's human behavior at it's worst. I see very little skepticism in these reports, often times blaming it on something that truly makes no sense. Like that story I just posted a page back- they seized and blamed a dog when there was something suspicious going on. I halfheartedly believe that people are afraid to admit the truth (whatever it may be) and are avoiding it and trying to "make it go away by ignorance". Well, it isn't going away. That's for sure.

It is transmitted by saliva I just read some report (closed the window) that these disease can start in the mouth. I don't know, seems sketchy to me.

I mean if it were entirely true wouldn't you like (sorry for graphics) not be able to perform oral sex with the risk of catching it? or share drinks?

I mean it has to be really rare, but it struck me that it was in his SON'S mouth, and he had to SHOOT him. I don't think any father wants to shoot his son. I don't know, I guess I'm trying to say that perhaps whatever is going on with the Miami cases was also present here. But its farfetched at best. But I still think this case smells funny.

One, its plausible, just like most of what I've covered in this thread with is annoying at best, because almost everything seems remotely plausible.

And while I agree that the subconscious is a powerful thing- I still think people don't want to be zombies, I think they just want to kill them. But like I said it has to start somewhere.

And while this may come across as being mean and harsh about society, the majority of people are very primitive. even in developed nations such as these. while technologically advanced, a lot of people are still very primitive-minded.

As Carlin said: "Spooky language designed to scare and control primitive people."

One last note, I'm a firm believer in the Collective Unconscious- it is plausible that in its awakening some people just can't tolerate the growth.

We often hear trends whether it be a new scam, or trend in crime. When one unusual crime happens we may hear about a series of others, a short time later. I'm glad the OP did this, I'm guessing canibalism is lumped with murder, or assaults, attempted murder. I can't even begin to guess how often this occurs, to know if its a growing epidemic, or its being reported more. It does look as though the eastern US its been happening quite often, maybe because of more populated areas, more witnesses. I'm sure in the center of the country they would be considered missing persons.

I agree - I'd rather kill zombies than be one, but I agree most people are complete imbiciles, or at least they CHOOSE to be ignorant.

That said, I wonder if this is just being used to push a ban on bath salts, and it's just selective reporting on average sorts of horrific crimes that happen here every day. The war on drugs has used falsehoods before.

I think that anytime someone bites someone else for no logical reason something is wrong.

I do agree many cases get lumped together- like the case I was just referring to on the previous page. Didn't even realize the guys with the flesh eating virus had been bitten by a person- that case was lumped together.

I agree about the midwest thing as well. I also think that people live a much simpler life out there are usually aren't exposed to as much and large cities are exposed to. Kind of like the age brackets between kids, for god sakes my 16 cousin doesn't even know who Bruce Willis is. There is so much going on in the world it is impossible to keep up, so most people just choose not to even bother.

If it's being used for anything I would argue that it would be more likely that it's for it's fear quality. The more fearful the society, the easier they are to control. I also think that's why 'bath salts' are a obvious choice.

No way of detecting. No way of proving. Fear everyone. You never know who it could be. Protect me. Save me.

etc.

Yea, they really are pushing this bath salts thing. NBC or one of the mainstreams did a whole article on Rudy saying it was definitely drugs (oh, btw toxicology is not in and family says he didn't do anything harder then weed *cough* who said that?). I wouldn't be surprised if this was all about some drug war propoganda....

been following this thread since it started, really great job! Im definitely got my eyes peeled for any new reports so Ill add them if and when they show up.

i think we are distracting the subject when we refer to this as "zombie attacks". these people are not undead creatures who cannot be killed.

we also know that they are ALL not on drugs, bath salts, '___', etc. I have first hand knowledge in this area and even in the case of extreme drug induced psychosis I have never seen someone try to eat someone else.

SO, what we are dealing with is something more interesting. For some reason, in the span of a month or so, people have become so enraged they have attacked, murdered and eaten strangers, friends, police, family members and loved ones?

SO in my opinion, the question is WHY? If we can look to stats that say this is nothing out of the ordinary except for over-reporting then fine but I dont think that is the case.

If the number of incidents continue to climb we really need to start researching what the cause of this is!! Thanks for the good work OP and everyone!

Perfect example and while true.. if the mass amount of people in the US saw this it would cause a HUGE panic.

While statistics on crimes like these seem to be entirely nonexistent, I would say that they best place to start on the 'Why' would be what causes incoherent rage? Without the rage, none of the other things would be present.

So what virus's cause rage? What environmental factors cause rage? What social situations cause rage? Ohhh.. what ECONOMIC factors cause rage?

We've covered the bath salts BS, we've covered toxoplasmosa gondii, we've covered all the other aspects..

What are we missing?
