I guarantee it. I remember when I was part of a small Navy detachment to a marine company on an army base. Inside the barracks the Navy and Marines would battle it out. Outside the barracks we were all brothers and would pummel the Army.

Normally it starts with some sort of intra-military insults.

BTW, notice how we never beat up on the air force? We didn't want their mommies to come around complaining about us picking on them.

Service guys fight all the time on base and off base, I was an MP US Army for many years, I have broken up fights between US Army and Bundeswehr, US Army and British Army of the Rhine, US Army and US Marine, US Army and US Air Force, US Army and Canadian Army, and US Army and Australian Army, and on occasion British Army and British Army, had something to do with football teams I think. Mountain being made out of molehill here. And yes US forces have fights with Foreign forces even in the United States when they come here to train.

We still don't know if they were in the military or just regular civilians. Hate to blame the military personal if they didn't have any thing to do with it.

I was making light of your outrageous demands. You act as if ATS controls something, and I find that hilarious.
You can use this as an excuse to hate the U.S. if you want, but it doesn't make any difference to me.

So because I am angry with the Americans for trying to bash our servicemen automatically means I hate a whole nation? All I can say to you is "Actions speak louder than words" and that saying holds true in this situation...

No one would care unless someone was killed. As people here have said again and again and again. brawling is common among military the world over. They even beat each other up.

you are throwing a hissy fit because you found an article and foamed at the mouth and ran on ats to use it as a straw man argument to bash Americans even though you admitted in the same paragraph you have no idea why this fight started and apparently had no previous knowledge that fighting is common among servicemen.

It was a half arsed fight between young men out drinking in a notorious part of town the END.

Don't feel bad this will be an attack on Aussie military more than US as we have had a few sexual incidents lately so media has them in their sights.

I am fairly sure it was the 2 black Americans who were arrested but in their favour they came back (probably knew they were screwed anyway) and they weren't arrested cause the weren't locals it was cause they threw the first punch and involved weapons in a fist fight.
I feel sorry for all involved cause something that should have been nothing will now probably cost them dearly.
I'm not sure how they class using a belt as weapon but that could be very bad for that guy.

I actually had no idea this America vs Australia thing was some kind of big issue.

I saw a guy on another forum I frequent at and they were also on about how all austrlaians should stop hating on americans... I take it that because of all the new form sof media in existance and America being a dominant Media Force and presence..

People are starting to talk more about the deeds being done by the most reported stories.. being americans due to their dominant media exposure within our gradually globalising society courtesy of the internet. I have no idea why people would think America is full of haters etc, i think every country and race has haters.. people are people and nationality has very little to do with their attitudes and mentality.

I never said fights were uncommon in the military now you are trying to put words in my mouth. This is about thug Americans coming into our country thinking they can do as they please. Its not on, it might be acceptable back in America due to a lack of morals but in Australia you don't go picking fights with people just for the hell of it. Tell me where I was shot down? People for the most part are saying this is just army rivalry.

Stories like this one are just a tiny fraction of how America has wronged us. There are so many stories its surprising that we are even allies and not enemies?

I have to admit those Australian soldiers sure can run good.

When soldiers get bored they fight. When I was in the service we used to start fights all the time but when it was over we didn't call the cops. We just bought each other beers.

Exactly, Soldiers have been doing this for a long time. Beer+Women+Soldiers= you got it, fist fights. It doesn't matter what the color of your skin is, it's the same everywhere.

That be because its the PC australian media reporting on it. Gees I remember a few years ago TPTB were trying to get pre-school kids to not sing "Baa Baa black sheep" because it was not pc , just change it to baa baa rainbow sheep!!! Are we still taking about this mass brawl? I would love to know the numbers involved, I suppose it will be plastered all over the evening news .
