So the Americans think they can come into our country and try bashing our servicemen?

They didn't try to bash your servicemen. They did bash your servicemen.

I have to admit those Australian soldiers sure can run good.

When soldiers get bored they fight. When I was in the service we used to start fights all the time but when it was over we didn't call the cops. We just bought each other beers.

Who got arrested, and who stayed to tell their story.

Ahh.. Aussies stayed, most of the others ran away.

funny that.

For a second there I thought this happened in front of the old spit and sawdust 50p in a pint pot titty bar in King Cross London.
Silly me..

Anyway a fight hardly surprises me, half of the ex squaddies I know can regale tales of rucking with American Marines. Thought it was a bit of a hobby.

Wrong buddy. Australia is ruled by Britain and the USA is ruled by the top dozen of the pyramid - of which Prince Philip reins as head "executive".

Now you know who yanks Obama's chains!

Really? Brawls have been going on for generations between different units in the military. This is not news.

Lol true.....spent most of my service breaking them up.

Great days, great days.

Paschendaele is a bit of a sore spot for us. We were victorious when you look at it from the standpoint of a war of attrition (kill more of them than they kill of you), but we lost thousands upon thousands of men on that field. The British field marshal that led the Canadian contingent into that slaughter should have been hanged. You know, the Germans used to have a saying about Canadian troops under the command of British officers, remarking how they would just waste thousands of good soldiers by putting them in positions they should never have been in: "Never have I seen such lions led by such lambs." I'd say if your looking for more cut and dry battle-honors, look no further than Vimy Ridge, our liberation of the Netherlands with almost no outside assistance (the Americans initiated Op Market Garden a bit later and then took credit for the whole shebang, but that was mostly us), or even the semi-disastrous peacekeeping mission in the Medak Pocket (Bosnia-Herzegovina, where soldiers from the Princess Pats braved massive artie barrages and small arms fire from up in the mountains and still only managed to end up with 11 casualties )
