Exactly!

This is the root of the problem. Pure ignorance. Their false belief that homosexuals are selecting their gayness rather than simply embracing what they are, is the root of the problem.

How can we even begin to address an issue or a social problem when one side of the argument doesn't even understand the reality of the situation?

Uh, the new black panthers have been all over every MSM news station. How can you form an opinion on CNN if you are clearly clueless?

Geographical location does NOT determine the character of a person, nor does theological affiliation, nor does race. You are being as bigoted as the ideas you say you are against.

No, it does not. I think the [thought] was of the so called "Bible Belt" Christians. May I ask if your views are common knowledge among the other members of your church, and does your preacher know what you think about it? I am not attempting to draw you out, PurpleChiten, just wanting to know. I know a Lesbian woman in my town. She is a Christian, but is forced to hide what she is so that she can attend church. We had a long discussing on this as I was repairing her laptop. She found out I was a Wiccan, and asked my views on Gays. Of course Wiccans do not demonize other for what they do, or think, so I told her. It was then that she took a change and confided in me. I felt sorry for her, truth be known. One should not have to pretend to be someone else, ever.

It's not so much my views as the views of the congregation in general. Many of us share the view, which is why I prefer that church.

Is it prejudice to hate the southern accent? It just makes the woman in the clip sound even more stupid.

I have lived in the south and in the northeast. People in the northeast are far "dumber" than anyone I've seen in the south. So yes, it is prejudice to hate the southern accent. ....of course the woman in the clip IS an idiot, but that's beside the point.

Ah beg yor pardin, sar. I do hail from the Nor'east an' I am agin the Kennedy accent as much as the suthin accent. I, sar, am an equal accent disliker. Now Um gonna go pahk the car and warsh some dishes.

They're the new "target du jour" of white racists but in reality, both sides are full of brainwashed morons.

Enjoy your little "race war", peons!

Disgusting group of people that I rank along with the fundamentalist, evangelical cultists, perhaps even lower then them.
Hatred is hatred regardless of where it comes from

LMAO! I don't like Anderson Cooper one bit, but I have to admit, he had me rolling on this one. I don't know how he was able to keep from laughing while talking to this woman. If that's the best representative that church can produce for a media interview, they are in a sorry state of affairs.

Thanks for the post. It's always nice to see the reaction from these Bible thumping-types when they get their asses handed to them and their hypocrisy and hate is exposed for all to see.

If this Jesus fellow is to be believed, I don't think he'd want these mouth-breathing twits representing him on Earth.

They shouldn't judge others.

homosexuality is said to be wrong in the bible, but as anderson points out.....there are MANY things that are said to be wrong in the bible. this woman and her pastor or truly ignorant in the real sense of the word. probably blinded by hate and anything that they consider different from them. you can only hope they will see and understand that this is totally unacceptable. i am a christian but i do not by any means believe gay people, or anyone else for that matter, should be treated and talked about this way. i think it's important to keep in mind there are radicals in all different aspects of life.

LOL I keep hearing comments like this. Her views don't represent Christian values. The Christian that killed a doctor from an abortion clinic wasn't representing christian values. Pedophile priests don't represent Christian values. The lunatics of the Westboro Baptist Church don't represent Christian values. Well, are there ANY Christians representing Christian values????

It would be impossible for someone to even hold Christian values that are 100% faithful to what the founders intended because those values are vaguely defined!

I often wonder if these "Christians" are actually mind-controlled minions of Lucifer?

Seems like poor journalism to me. This woman is obviously incapable of arguing the pastor's position, so why not go to the pastor himself? He would probably have the best chance of defending his statement. However, it does make the pastor seem ignorant by proxy, so maybe that's what anderson cooper was aiming for. Distasteful.

I'm a Christian from the deep south, and I'm far from neanderthal. In fact, ignorant people are going to be ignorant, regardless of religion. So, that was a cheap shot, mr.

I'm a Christian from the south and I am supportive of Gay Rights, the right for them to marry and am far from a Neantderthal. It's not Christians from the south that are the problem, it's the fundamentalist evangelical cultist Christians from every part of the country that is the problem.

As you state that you are a Christian, please provide your definition of a "fundamental evangelical Christian"?

I'll tell you mine - fundamentals of Christ are the laws, precepts and rules of our Holy scripture. An evangelical is one who spreads the good news of the gospel.

So please tell me brethren, why are you against Christ?

Why does every Christian think they are the ones that are practicing "real Christianity"? It's so childish. Just admit all of you are more than likely wrong.

I don't like Anderson Cooper one bit, but I am totally with him on this interview. Well done, Mister Cooper.

The people I REALLY feel sorry for are not gays. It's the children born to those horrible, horrible people like the woman in the "interview". Poor children, cursed to grow up raised by lunatics...
