Having just caught up on this mornings ATS forums, I note you have garnished quite a number of conversations regarding your Dictators thread, I was just about to ask you a few questions regarding same when the last post by the Mod closed the thread until further notice, when and if it re-activates I will flick a few questions your way and get your response.

Regarding this thread and the conversations you were having with yourself, albeit for our better understanding of your mindset, I feel that you are quite passionate on topics of this nature.

Postings, threads, comments and the like posted by Anonymous sources, in my opinion, is a double-edged sword.
On the one hand is serves the purpose of feeding information/disinformation with no accountability and on the other hand it frustrates genuine researchers who cannot verify the accuracy of the information provided. Would making an "anon ID" a banned entity weed out the disinformation culprits and open up forums to more transparency? Or would we be faced with the possibility of very little to no further forthcoming information on topics we all find of interest?

I do note, as an aside statement, that your two threads this morning seem interrelated, philosophically speaking.

IMO, there are trigger words on ATS that get people going and inflame passions:-

UFO, Jesus, Islam, NWO, religion, illuminati, homosexuality and now "Dictator" can be added to my list.

All debate is good on all topics and we can agree that personal digs are counter-productive in every instance.

I look forward to hearing what you have to say.

sometimes were so much alike it makes me wonder. A few years back I used to get on a forum called "rants and raves" on a site we have called craigslist. I had developed four different personas with different names, personalities, backgrounds and writting styles. I would pit them against one and other when the debates got boring or slow.
It was funny to see other people take one side of my character against the other, and vice versa. Kind of weird when I think back on it. But hey think of the memories you'll have a few years from now

I don't necessarily agree that an "internet id" or transparency by taking away anonymity is the answer.

Unfortunately people do not take responsibility for their words, actions or deeds, and it is becoming more an more acceptable to point the finger at someone or something else and place blame rather than take responsibility.

People should hold themselves accountable, and take responsibility for their words, actions and deeds, and suffer the consequences of that.

I think that the real answer lies in making it less acceptable for people to point fingers and place blame elsewhere for bad behavior.

Should we take away anonymity and hold people accountable? Is that our job? Is it our "right" to point fingers and force people to take responsibility? Where does the 'finger-pointing end?

I'm not anonymous, I'm intrepid. That's my handle and anything I say on it is open to scrutiny. Other than that I see no reason to leave myself open to potential problems. About 5-6 years ago an member threatened my life. He tracked me down to my industry but the wrong institution. Now that in itself doesn't worry me. I wanted to set up a date and thrash that bugger. That said, I don't need to be walking down the street and get shanked from behind.

I find your post to be a personal attack and bad manners. What I think is unbelievable is guys like you that insult people straight off the bat. I guess that is why I wrote this thread and placed it in the 'rant' section.

I was upset because I had people accuse me of inciting hate and glorifying Hitler. I take great offenece to an accusation like that. I think it is a very serious accusation to make.

I was also upset because I wrote a thread that I was actually kind of proud of and it was ruined by people that wanted to insult me because I have the audacity to say that I admire how Hitler ran germany before the war and that after reading his book I can understand where he is coming from. That is in no way shape of form glorifying him or inciting hate. It would be akin to me accusing you of being pro-Dresden because you support the allies. My opinions have depth. It is very serious to accuse someone of inciting hate. Like I said,I took great offence and I take great offence from your accusations.

You may disagree with the point of my thread but there is no need to imply that I am idiotic or be rude to me. No need at all. Why are you constantly living in the past? I don't think anything about Winston Churchill because I am living and thinking about 2012 and couldn't care less. Your talking about things that happened nearly 60 years ago between nations that your not even apart of what is the point of it. Haven't you got anything better to do?

I have read many things in relation to WW1 and WW2. not one book. I also seem to know far more about history than you do.

My two favourite authors are Salinger and Kafka. I am not racist. this is why I take so much offense from your ludicrous accusations. I have read all of the books/novellas and short stories from Kafka and Salinger. Why would they be my two favourite authors if I was racist? Why?

Hitler was an example of a Dictator that I used to lead in to my point of how a Dictator was not always seen as a negative thing. The Romans used Dictators in the Republic and it worked.
