Just tell me what McVeigh or any other terrorist accomplished by killing people? What wonderful thing happened as a result of a terrorist attack? NOTHING. Just dead people upon more dead people.
If you want to enact change, it takes lots and lots of people speaking up and speaking out. Peaceful protests. Look at what Martin Luther King, Jr. and Gandhi and Jesus Christ accomplished, and they didn't harm a single soul.
You don't have to bomb people to get noticed.

I see your point. But there's lots of governments that have killed innocent people. Why single out the US? Oh wait I know why, because that's the common theme on ATS.Bash the US.

I'll explain my support for this thread. One, I didn't realise this had already done the rounds on ATS and Two, I wasn't supporting the actions of a civilian bomber but rather the idea of...
How do YOU get your government to stop? In other words, they do in reality inflict much more suffering than this one incident.
Obviously killing almost 200 civilians like McVeigh did is not the answer but I suppose the right mind, the right circumstances and environment and quite probably, the right medication, well...we've seen it so many times before and on both sides. I probably have half the facts by the wrong end but I think you can see my point nonetheless.
In a way he was a suicide bomber, but an own-goal scorer in the hope to possibly, and deludingly avoid further bloodshed and war in the future?
I know absolutely nothing about the case or the man apart from what went past briefly on UK news back in the day but I do remember there being quite the question mark as to his true connections and motive since the events took place. I even came across one post (not ATS) that claimed he was a Freemason. Lone wolf or just a dog following orders...? It's certainly a weird and unique case, in any case.

I do not care. My opinion still stands, and maybe you should educate yourself a little more before supporting something you claim you know nothing about. Even if there are unidentified co-conspirators, people on the inside or whatever, if this is found to be true and those people identified, they should also suffer the same fate as McVeigh.
He killed the very people he vowed to protect.
