Look at the start, on the left of the scenery there is indeed a Big Ben (London) , however, on the right, there is a Colosseum (Rome) with an Eiffel Tower (Paris) in the middle.

So its definitely not a specific city.

Myt interpretation is that it symbolises the second world war and how now our rivalries are sporting. Europe is a pretty violent continent when viewed from out side. We've had a LOT of wars over here hence we have political union to prevent us killing each other. I think Europeans are culturally very agressive and always look to control everything. Britain, France, Spain, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Austria, Serbia, Portugal... we've all had a go at some point... I think that is what this video is about, the rivalries of old transferred to the Football pitch. Just a bit of fun really... Should be a great tournament, I reckon Spain'll take it.

I'm not entirely sure why the Chinese are promoting this as they are.

They have every right to watch, enjoy and promote Euro 2012 on sports channels etc, but why in this manner?

Why are all the players in the video Chinese, when their Country is not even competing?

They are not and have never been involved in the UEFA European Games. It's European Countries only, it's not the World Cup.

And what's with the blowing up and burning of European Cities/Monuments?

It's a very strange promotional advert and a bit on the disturbing side. I'm not quite sure what to make of it really.

Crazy vid, We really need to know what's being said and also why did they show this? was it for a sports channel in China?

As an aside - China needs an English speaking news channel like RT news in Russia and Press Tv in Iran. Yeah it will be biased but at least if we can see everyones biased views we might be able to find the truth somewhere in the middle.

My take on this. Pause video at 3.31 right at the end. Broadcaster is NOW TV, based in China and Hong Kong.
They won the rights to broadcast Euro 2012 in the far east, and although the images in the video are disturbing, it is just a promo video, designed to capture the remote control of the areas TV sets in that part of the world.

I think this video is way misunderstood, it represents the battle European nations wage to win the prestigious European Championship, which in my mind is the best tournament, it's the best football has to offer.

But still, the Chinese are also at fault here for making it so... weird. I also don't understand why there are asian players everywhere. They really didn't think this through.

No, you can say, this is how "China" is, but if you are throwing the Chinese into one category you are wrong.

Just as I wouldn't say all Americans would gun down thousands of women in children in Iraq and Vietnam, but instead, America and their war policies had led to those things. And in some cases, the criminal acts of rogue soldiers. Nor would I say that Americans throw the highest rate of their people in prisons. It's America that has the highest prison population in the world.... Not the people who are thrown into it.

Gambling in China is not even rivaled by Las Vegas anymore (Macau). Your explanation hit the nail on the head. Millions, if not billions will exchange hands during this event through betting, and it makes complete sense to market it as attention grabbing as possible.
