I think there are many US Marines in Australia.
I hope they do not get involved again where they do not belong.
Who am I kidding, we know why the foreign force is there...

No, no you have it wrong the marines aren't manipulating this. It was the American CIA that plotted the coup against PM Rudd.

The CIA orchestrated the overthrow of Whitlam, so it isn't a far stretch to say that they done it to Rudd as well.

Couldn't agree more my friend.

Fed up of paying through the nose. Why does all of my hard earned mining cash have to be spent on backing up the rest of the country? I'm serious, I earn a nice high three figure sum and in this state, three pints of beer will cost you nearly $40 if out in the city.......WTF?

But I have noticed car prices coming down quite a bit...........mmmm?

Succession?

No, not really.

You should be. Sydney is the only part of Australia with any real relevance, as far as the government are concerned.

I can see a scenario where the East coast, from Melbourne to Brisbane, becomes in formal terms, the country which Canberra really governs right now. That is the proverbial proxy 51st state of America.

In urban terms at least, culturally speaking, the East coast is not Australia. It's a sattelite of America.

Mining is not hard work considering the automation involved and the rest of your country has as much right to profit as the state you live in considering that its a natural resource that's being mined.

Yes you are right, since we are a Federation we have the right to profit from other states doing well. BUT what Canberra is doing is they are taking but not giving much back, most of the wealth is being taken to NSW and Victoria....

How about you eastern staters stop taking everything we've got and giving us sfa in return.

Hows about that!

I really dunno, why is the empire camped out in your backyard?
We know Aussies have their own military and they are capable of defending the country.
Curious.

(Edit)
I would assume that the US would side with the state where the power is held, and I'm sure that US Marines would have no problem shooting non US citizens.
Hell, some may even shoot US citizens if told so.
Not the smartest of our forces and all, but they sure can blow some crap up.

Yeah well it's barnett, what are you going to do, his smug crap eating grin has that affect on everyone.

If they didn't have all that precious stuff in the ground and off-shore, WA would be one big vast red-neck hell-hole. A real life Mad Max with a few Wolf Creeks thrown in for good measure . Anyway China's bubble is about to burst anyway - so we'll all be active participants in this Mad Max reality sooner or later.

Peace Out

Spoken like a true ignoramus. You drove in a desert and that's all you have to remember WA about... Well done, I went to melbourne once... Nice if you're a fish out of water with all the crap weather, and the people there were as rude as the worst I've met in WA... Yep, I'll represent all of melbourne on the one or two tossers I met, and the week it rained.

While you might think the eastern states 'get it all', its really Canberra, Sydney & Melbourne-just the major cities.
The rest of the states (Vic & N.S.W) is left as high & dry as the rest of the country.
I'm in North East country Vic & we get s**t -all. Our roads are pathetic. Essential services have been on a steady decline for the last 2 decades.

Arghhhh, don't leave us W.A!!!!!!!!! Get OUT Gillard!!

Yep, there was also other things Whitlam done that angered the CIA. Such actions taken were -

-The disruption of CIA operations, most notably ordering ASIS and ASIO home from operations and firing the respective bosses. (Australia's Intel services were very close with the CIA).

-Threatening to close all US bases and exposing the CIA operations in Australia

-And many more

He was expelled from office on the exact day which he was going to expose the CIA corruption and influence on the Australian Government.

Here is a good documentary that i just found:

Unfortunately in modern Australian politics, it appears that there are outside forces playing with Australia. Rudd pretty much confirmed it when he described that the "The faceless men" put Gillard in power.

I wonder who these faceless men are...could be anyone. But one of my bets are on the CIA.

No matter what anyone says, if the lizard biatch herself, you know the one, the one with the face on the currency doesn't give the green light then nothing will happen.

Those silly little people, all shouting about a country that doesn't belong to anyone but me and my blood line.

Also, CIA officers involved stated that Australia was just another Chile - just more subtle.

"The CIA's aim in Australia was to get rid of a government they did not like and that was not co-operative… it's a Chile, but in a much more sophisticated and subtle form."

Although I like Aussies...I believe that they tend to fight amongst themselves a bit too much. Here they have this vast country...6th largest in the world precieded by in this order...1. Russia 2. Canada 3. United States 4. China 5. Brazil....although in reality....and even though they are different countries...the U.S. and Canada together are larger than Russia and the U.S. and Canada are so close and Militarily interconnected...when Russia comes out with their yearly Military Threat Accessment....they name U.S./Canada NORAD as their number one threat. This is mainly...and despite some Canadians who are VERY SENSITIVE to this issue...Canada is like the 51st State and there are Massive in both size and number joint U.S./Canadian Military bases all over Canada.

Anyways...Australia has the potential to be a Great Country...but not necessarily the will. I have been there several times and as I have noticed in other countries I have been to...and the list is long...Aussies like to do things at a rate of their own individual choosing. This is not nearly at the slow pace of Europe where I have to wait 45 Minutes before I can get a sandwich...if they even serve them...but still...Australians do not move or work at the frantic pace that Americans do...actually...no one does.

For Australia to become Great in areas that are a necessity to develop an area that is extremely under developed...they need to pick up the pace. I think that is what is happening as far as this topic is concerned. Some Aussies are using the right plans to achieve a robust economy while others are too easy going and are not pulling their weight.

This is too bad because Australia has resourses as well as the potential to have a very robust economy. But then again...as the U.S. Economy goes...so goes the rest of the worlds economic viability. But still...if you want to get somewhere or achieve something...you have to work hard. I know because I did and now I am wealthy...but I had to work to get this and waiting for a hand out...only hurts everyone else.

Right now many see the U.S. as Broke but in reality...since the U.S. Economy is so HUGE as well as the fact it is even larger than Chinas that has a population which China under reports as 1.4 Billion but is really close to around 2 Billion...the U.S. only has a population of 300 Million people which can generate MASSIVE Tax revenue to a point where we will be able to pay off Chinas loans in a relatively small time span...and there is a rapid recovery taking place right now as I can see the trend over the last few months from our Families Companies profit calculations.

Australia has only a small population of only 22.4 Million people and is 52nd on the list of the Worlds Population by Country. Even Syria and Mozambique have larger populations! The U.S. has 4 States that have a comparable population to the entire population of Australia as well as having 2 Staes that each individualy have a Larger population than all of Australia. My TINY STATE of Massachusetts has close to a THIRD of Australias population in a state that is only 7840 Square Miles! So Australia is also VASTLY UNDERPOPULATED.

I think the WORSE thing that could happen to Australia from an Economic point of view would for it to SPLIT APART! As it is now...Australia has no Military to speak of and RELIES HEAVILY upon the United States Military for protection. Since the country has such a low density of people for the land mass....there are not large rural areas of Homes as in the U.S....there are many more people living in the Countryside Rural Areas than in the Cities. This allows the U.S. Economy to grow exponentially as Home Owners build additions or do renovations as well as EVERYONE OWNING AT LEAST ONE CAR....I have seven. And besides the obvious industrial capabilities in the U.S....Japan...did a study that surprised them as they found that U.S. Workers are the MOST PRODUCTIVE IN THE WORLD...in second place is IRELAND....Japanese workers were down the list of more than just a few other countries...so...The Worlds Largest Maker of TOYOTAS is the United States! LOL!

This is what Australia needs...other countries to INVEST into it which create JOBS! Some people who are short sighted felt that Japan was buying up too many U.S. Companies...what happened is that the Japanese who came here to set up the plants...ended up becoming Americanized and their Children are U.S. Citizens as they chose to stay in the U.S. and many obtained their Citizenship. The same thing is now happening to CHINA. China could have invested it's mony ANYWHERE in the World yet chose to invest in to Loans to the U.S. as China considered this as a VERY SAFE INVESTMENT. As to the people who see U.S. debt to China as a way for China to manipulate the U.S. China cannot force payment Militarily SI

You have obviously never worked on a mine then.

I can't begin to even tell you how much I resent that comment.

Yes, I might earn a good salary, but I work bloody hard for it.

Have seen this coming for years a civil war ensuing with the other states. Colin Barnett was a poor canditate for selection, the only thing he will be remembered for is his laws to enable Monsanto to trial GMO crops in Western Australia. Later to start Human trials of the GM product on the unsuspecting public.

Australia has always had the potential to be a great and powerful nation. However it is not the will which is holding Australia back, it is the rule of Britain and the USA. Both, the USA and Britain are afraid of what Australia could of, and can achieve. It is evident through history. The USA and Britain wouldn't let Australia develop Nuclear weapons, even though we wanted to. We had a nuclear site which was going to be used solely for the purpose of developing nukes, but under the USA's rule, we were told to abandon the plant and nukes altogether, while we were getting raped of uranium by Britain and the USA, and our land getting tested on.

The fact is, Australia is not a powerful nation in today's standards because the USA has made sure it is that way. If the USA had no involvement in Australian affairs, then we would be a very successful and powerful country in today's world

The Lima declaration signed in 1975 under the Whitlam government made sure that Australia would not be able to manufacture through private industry. This has been eradicating Australians standard of living while slowly turning us into a 3 world nation, Medical health care is a joke, rising electricity prices, GM foods, drones and US troops on Australian soil up to 30 000 if not more. All preparing for civil unrest. There are alot of us West Aussies sensing an urgency to unite.www.youtube.com...
