They ddn't fight for a medal. The medal just represents the character they showed in the face of danger.

What they do with it is their business.

It is symbolic, but a false symbolism because the medal doesn't represent the government. It represents their strength.

Whatever. They're making a statement, and a very important one. Bless these tormented souls.

It sends a really powerful message when a large number of veterans ceremoniously return their medals, it says "here's what we think of your b***s*** war - you're not bribing us with your trinkets to do your dirty work".

The "Global War on Terrorism" took a serious detour into Iraq with Bush's Big Lie, and it only proved that the Global War on Terrorism was just a phony excuse to go rape and pillage another country's resources. It racked up trillions in debt, cost thousands of our soldier's lives, many tens of thousands more soldiers who were wounded, and many hundred's of thousands of Iraqi and Afghani civilians who were unnecessarily made into collateral damage all so the puppet masters could line their pockets with our tax dollars AND rob and steal another nations resources.

Personally I think these vets should return more than just their medals, they should also return some of those depleted uranium shells, right up those NATO chump's keesters.

That in and of itself, deserves a medal.

Agreed, these men are TRUE soldiers ... men with HONOR. They should be soluted, because they are fighting for what is just ... and against tiranny. These men are true to their wow.

In this situation, the enemy is domestic ... and only true "heroes" dare to show up.

Once in a very long while we get some sunshine shattering all the dark, depressing news that gets highlighted to keep us feeling frustrated and depressed.

This is one very big ray of light! The best news since sliced bread! Excellent, in fact.

Once the heart of people starts waking up, all else will follow. I strongly believe that we will fix nothing in this world until we find our true hearts again.
You can sort your heart out by asking:
Is it truth,
is it kind,
is it necesary?

Yes! What these guys are doing, definately is!

They are awarded the medals due to individual acts of bravery which illustrate character, not political ideology.

I'm sure that many Germans shown bravery in WW2 defending German from attack, do they deserve medals? of course not.. This is the same issue here, they are fighting a war they do not believe, so many people have lost their lifes for many reasons apart from the main the FAKE Terror.

My point is Bravery doesn't merit a medal if its a bad cause. Medals are deserved when they have shown bravey and done GOOD for your country... These wars are actually damaging Americas principles and beliefs, land of the free, ya right...

You hit the nail on the head friend. I use the same kinda logic but call it the "Yo Momma" logic.
Just like the raucous, crude, offensive jokes associated with the name but then turned on oneself.

Q Would "Yo Momma" do this?

Q Would you do this to "Yo Momma"?

If the answer to either of the 2 questions is no, you don't do it.
Simple but effective. Don't wanna make "My Momma" mad now!

This story reminds me of John Kerry. John 'Winter Soldier' Kerry did that after Vietnam. He tossed his ribbons over the fence at the White House and rejected his ribbons and awards (which he never should have been awarded in the first place). Then ... when he was running for POTUS .. he suddenly claimed them again and kept calling himself a purple heart winner Vietnam Vet.

They joined willingly, if they'd like give back the medals willingly. I'm sure their gonna hand over their benefits as well, now that'd be a shocker.

Excellent news, this is the kind of patriotism we need. This is what will make people, like myself, once again proud of the troops (although their ron paul rally was even better than this).

Getting chills and goosebumps in a good way when reading the discussion here, hooray for those that have honor and dignity, chi-town get ready...warning, be on the look out for Kent State remake, as that mayor has some shifty looking eyes and demeanor, that I do not trust one bit, or iota...and hope that don't try any provoke a response, that would trigger reaction, that leads to more abuses on the people...vigilant and on guard we must all be...as the tyrants have the reigns and they are ready to crack their whips...is my guess.

They probably wont get within 10 feet of them, and if they do I hope they are not wearing their military uniforms because they could end up getting arrested for it, since its against the military code.

Exactly. If these individuals were so against illegal wars and nation-building missions, why did they join the military in the first place? Weak-willed hypocrites, the whole lot of them.

Sorry, but I have slight brain damage. When exactly did I say he was less deserving of respect then another soldier, or any human being for that matter.

My posts were about Hughes (the guy in the video). I honestly don't know when I say he was due less of anything.

I would like to make a scupture out of melted down medals that are handed back.

How about one of George Bush and Tony Blair tearing apart a Dove of peace stuck on the 4th statue podium at Trafager square

10 guys are going to give back there medals whoopee! If they want to really make a statement they should set themselves on fire and get some public immolation going. That will make the news.
