If the Oilers are to make the Playoffs and go deep....then Nuge needs to score 40 goals...and he can easily do that....so Connor has his work cut out for him straight off the bat here ok fellas...no excuses because I know Nuge from day one and know what he can do....and I know Connor from day one and have him pinned as well......Connor has to better Nuges goal total and by how far is up to him once his job of setting up RNH is done he can free-wheel it and get greedy for himself in fact h will NEED TO GET GREEDY FOR HIMSELF IN ORDER TO LIFT THE BAR UP ANOTHER NOTCH IN HIS DEVELOPMENT....this elite level of 60 minute GREED is what made Gretzky and Lemieux and Lindros and Crosby and others so special....a leader eventually runs into the dilemma of GREED....they realise that to push themselves up higher so they can PULL THE TEAM UP HIGHER they MUST GET DOWNRIGHT UGLY STINKY GREEDY and light it up on anyone who even blinks twice FOR A FULL 60 MINUTES....and it takes a special type of Stanley Cup Playoff focus to kick the everloving snot out of an opponent who is down in the NHL after all everyone is just doing their jobs and sometimes guys do not want to make brothers lose said jobs because they get lit up for 6 goals in a period...…. BUT BUT BUT...this is the level of hunger and dedication one needs to build a Championship mindset and Team....you have to be willing to exploit an opponent AS HARD AND OFTEN AS YOU CAN in EVERY GAME....because really you only have 82 times to get your crap together before you have to fight for the Cup...and when you look at it from the bigger picture view 82 games is about just right for a Team to get it together and build properly timed momentum with not many games to swing on if you screw up for an extended period without righting your ship.


So in a squirrels-nut shell.......Connor and Co. NEED TO begin to run opponents OFF OF THE ICE literally make opposing Coaches bench players or switch up their lines....by SIMPLY RIPPING THE EVERLOVIN SKINS OFF OF weak links....find ONE GUY IN EVERY GAME and HAMMER THE SNOT OUT OF HIM TARGETTING HIM OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER.....once you smell BLOOD YOU GO BACK FOR A SECOND AND THIRD BITE AS SOON AS YOU CAN TURN AND BURN,I want to see BLOWOUTS....and I want to see EVERY SINGLE OILER COACH TO PLAYER ON BOARD WITH THE REASONS THIS HAS TO HAPPEN AS MANY TIMES AS IS HUMANLY POSSIBLE.....for proper team development they HAVE TO FIND THEMSELVES IN THIS DOMINANT POSITION to build proper cerebral muscle-memory......they need to build a comfort zone and they need to learn how to properly PACE THEMSELVES AS A GROUP over 60 minutes....and over 82 games...they need to learn what peaking means....lol....both a 60 minute game and an 82 game season are SPRINTS exactly like a 50 yard dash...dynamiclly speaking EXACTLY THE SAME....every phase is identical in every way....so consider this and emulate it consistantly and you will win consistantly......you MUST TEACH YOURSELF TO FINISH HARDER THAN YOU BEGAN EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU ENTER BATTLE...set your pace so that you are in FULL STRIDE FULL SPEED AS THE GAME IS CLOSING....EVERY NIGHT WIN OR LOSE....you need to build this cerebral muscle-memory.....it is what it is simply put...


Really guys I am saying that the oilers need to become BULLIES AT HEART and to do this they need to begin to identify then pick on the weakest sheep in the flock to make their bones....if they dont have the stomach to run up a score as high as they possibly can on any of the 82 nights then they do not have what it takes to become Champions nor do they deserve to be

Goals ....it doesnt matter what the score is during any of the 60 minutes...not at all...what matters is how many goals you can score with the number of chances you can generate during said 60 minutes...a truly focused properly functioning team mindset is directed at doing only one thing.....capitolising on as many of their opportunities as they can as fast as they can....its called rinse and repeat.....there IS NOTHING ELSE FOR THE MEN TO WORRY ABOUT BECAUSE EVERYTHING ELSE IS ABSOLUTELY OUT OF THEIR CONTROL.....the ONLY thing in their control is how many goals they score with the number of chances they can generate in 60 minutes.

If we are going to do this it has to be done right.

T-Mac-Gully-EveryMan has to be on the same page....we have to shrink the cerebral rink so to speak...we are going to make things as KISS as anyone has ever seen....ONE SINGLE FOCUS FOR 82 GAMES....we are not going to REMOVE ANYTHING from the model....we are simply going to ADD one overpowering ingredient that will permeate everything else ...I like to think of it as Ghost Pepper flavor.We are going to focus on ONLY ONE STATISTIC for 82 GAMES...and it will be the percentage of POSSESIONS the team converts to GOALS in 60 minutes....does EVERYMAN UNDERSTAND THIS...do the COACHES UNDERSYAND THIS....ok...then make it so...adjust whatever your gameplan is to reflect this SINGLE PRIMARY FOCUS....ONLY THIS DRIVING FORCE WILL DICTATE THE ADJUSTMENTS YOU MAKE....you ONLY MAKE CHANGES TO PURSUE THIS SINGULAR OBJECTIVE.


Nobody ever asks how a player scores their goals empty net or breakaway they only ask how many......this is a very old Hockey saying....but it holds extremely critical data to anyone who wishes to excel playing the game itself...a Team must have this mindset to become a Championship team because this is CHAMPIONSHIP LEVEL ADVICE HIDDEN WITHIN WHAT PEOPLE THINK IS JUST AN OLD SCHOO ADAGE.......no one cares what system you used or how many mistakes you made or where or how you made them....all everybody cares about is HOW MANY GOALS YOU SCORED AT THE END OF THE GAME....and my sons IF THIS BE THE CASE THEN YE SHALL NEED TO BE CHANGIN YER WAYS SOONER THAT YESTERDAY....just like Moma2 is showing you.

The Team needs to PROJECT POWERFULL DOMINATING OVERWHELMING NON-STOP GUARANTEED OFFENSE FOR 60 FULL OUT MINUTES....this is a GUARANTEE the Oilers must give to ALL NHL FANS LEAGUEWIDE and this is what will allow McDavid and todays NHL to work together to create another LEGITIMATE Gretzky effect and to ensnare and entirely new generation of hockey fans....if the Oilers stop playing defense first bully or boring hockey and OPENLY COMMIT ORGANISATIONALLY TO FIREWAGON HOCKEY 60 MINUTE OFFENSIVE EXCITING EDGE-OF-YOUR-SEAT CONNOR MCDAVID SPECIAL HOCKEY then everyone can digest accept and adjust to that and the SOONER THIS HAPPENS THE BETTER.

How do you pace a Team in todays NHL....due to schedule construct do you make efforts to tactically approach segments differently or do you approach every single game the same way....consistency being what it is and that being CRITICAL TO MAKING THE PLAYOFFS...in terms of consistant wins and points being banked.


Usually a Defense-first club will prefer to approach each and every game exactly the same way with the exact same structure and focus and intentions....blue-collar to the max...…..and as a club strays from this presentation it MUST change its Processes to reflect added risk vs rewards dynamics which appear by proxy once you stray from organised solid structure.....and of course the further and further you drift the more and more you must change your Processes until the day comes when your skill levels and the Leagues evolution force you to intentionally march away from the Defense-first security of consistant structure and low risk approaches....and it is at this point that you need a new CORE VALUE FOCUS or a NEW SYSTEM......one which optimally supports the assets and league climate you are working with.

Mistake free hockey....the old Oilers who lived in the NHLs basement used to think that meant not allowing any mistakes on defense....lol...todays hopefully understand that it means NOT EVER MISSING A MCDAVID OR RNH OR DRAISAITLE...SET-UP...…..the entire Clubs mindset has to be changed by now.....mistake free hockey means NOT CHOKING and NOT SCREWING UP perfectly good scoring opportunities.....someone better figure out how to let Bouchard carry pucks as many times in a game as Coffey did...you ABSOLUTELY CANNOT LIMIT HIM OR HIS DECISION MAKING OR HIS ARITISTRY AND EXPRESSION OF HIS SKILLSET AT THE NHL LEVEL....if you want the offense out of him you saw early YOU MUST GIVE HIM THE SAME DYNAMIC FOCUS ANDOPPORTUNITY....YOU WILL NOT GET 50% PRODUCTION FROM 50% of the focus and puck time.....it doesn't work that way....he MUST BE FULLY INTEGRATED INTO THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS AND BE ALLOWED TO READ THE ICE AND FORCE OPPONENTS TO REACT TO HIM AND HIS POSSESION CONTROL OR HIS PINPOINT PASSING BUT HE HAS TO HAVE TWO EDGES TO HIS SWORD OR TRADE HIM TO A REAL NHL TEAM WHO WILL USE HIM PROPERLY....the NHS needs a player like Bouchard....so does the NHL...this guy could break some records and if he is used properly and fed consistant minutes he will finally bring a Calder to the Oilers....he could win the Calder and the Norris in the same year if he can have a lucky first 40 games.....and then power his way to his highest pace for the Playoffs.

Gully....do you have the ability to get this message across to everyone...about what mistake-free hockey really means to a Connor McDavid led NHL Team....can you explain to the men how and why their and your own levels of URGENCY are intimately connected to this specific topic....and then how urgency or a lack-thereof directly impacts shooting % individually and teamwise.

Lets not overthink it.Remember those words Woodcroft speaks.Remember the PP from last year.Know that last years PP EXCELLED in critical areas of its execution.I did not say preformed above average I said EXCELLED.What was done on the back-end of those PP o-zone possesions was what screwed the Oilers up.Its NOT GETTING ANY BETTER than last season,IMHO the Oilers were top 5 in the NHL in one aspect of their PP,the critical one....but they COULD NOT FINISH....there was a VOID somewhere in the process,the players were IMHO undermanaged in small areas of the game and this is what resulted in the massive contrasts between PP o-zone entries/possesion vs goals scored.

What I am saying is that Woodcroft was not the issue with the PP it was built in a solid manner and it was NOT a tirefire....there was SIMPLY NO FINISH....and that is what it is,the processes that brought you the excellent PP focus and drive to transition the puck 200 feet were abandoned at the last stage of the PP execution in the o-zone...the uber-focus was to cleanly gain the o-zone without losing possesion...without dumping it in and away...then chasing it down agan,this was achieved in a very solid manner...but then the excellent management that developed the PP was somehow abbrogated and the FINISH part of the equation was rubbed out or erased,a sucessfull pattern had been built but it was INTENTIONALLY ABANDONED at the last leg of the race,its nutty,like Squirrel Nutty.

Was 86ing the Asst. Coaches the right thing to do,I dont know,I DO KNOW THIS,no one is building a better PP base than the Oilers had last season and EVERYTHING STEMS FROM THE BASE....from the foundation...IMHO the Oilers COULD have had the NHLs TOP PP judging by how many times they had clean controlled possesions in the o-zone with a man advantage.


Was I willing to give that up,NOPE,would I have roasted the PP Coaches...NO,I would have asked them to transfer the entire PP philosophy to the 5on5 game...directly and completely.Bloody dotards running the show in Edmonton.....Eakins built an elite NHS BASED d-zone exit process that worked perfetly at the NHL level but he could not build off of it....in the EXACT SAME MANNER the Oilers last season built an NHS BASED PP that was elite and performed perfectly at the NHL level but they could not build off of it....arent any of these idiots understanding that there are advanced NHS philosophies tactics and concepts in play here...the Coaches are LEARNING -ON-THE-FLY...and they can now do things they couldnt in the past in terms of building specific dynamics on the ice...now they need to stop copy-catting bits and pieces of the NHS and start UNDERSTANDING what they are doing....but alas they are simply scraping up whatever NHS advice they can find online and are not smart or studious enough to simply go straight to source and pay the bill like people normally do.So far the Oilers have built a League dominating d-zone exit....elite...then dumped it because they could not finish using it....then they dumped the men who built it...then a few years later they build off of this and create an ELITE NHL Powerplay process that gives them PERFECT zone possesion BUT AGAIN THEY CANNOT FIND WAYS TO FINISH THE EQUATION OFF PROPERLY and the PP severely underperformed.That is 2 massive managerial Squirrel-Eggs lain.....6 years of wasted money time and effort....what kind of dotards keep making the same mistakes over and over and over....very rich ones....LMAO.Put Eakins d-zone exit with Woodcrofts PP and you have 2 of the Holy Pillars built....then all you need is the n-zone game game 5on5 to mate up with the d-zone exits and the o-zone game to mate up with the n-zone processes and the PP zone possesions , then add the offensively focused PK which looked really good last year and the TSP or Tactical Shooting program....and you are on task.This has been a long hard learning process for the olde Oilers...they really did a dirty to Moma2 and the NHS.....hey should have validated and complimented the NHS instead they are not saying squat...so they continue to be beaten like a rented mule.I will say this to them....look what you taught me about hockey...Moma2 never played...lol........look what I did with all of the things your careers cumulatively TAUGHT ME...I MADE SOMETHING OUT OF IT....YOU ALL SAT ON YOUR ASSES AND LET YOUR LEGACIES SPEAK FOR YOU....but I on the other hand was busy BUILDING SOMETHING NEWER AND BIGGER AND STRONGER AND BETTER....than what you were building legacies upon....and what do you all do now....you balk...you cower like wet puppies.
