Sheikh Mohammad Noman said his wife threw acid over him in a revenge attack when he refused to give her a divorce after she left him for her ex-husband.
He told the network: 'She said, "I've got something for you, please forgive me". As soon as I turned around shew threw acid on me.
'The pain of the acid is still there, but my heart aches too because I loved her and this is what she give to me in return.'
Noman's wife is to face charges relating to the attack next year.

The act of acid throwing - also known as vitriolage - is a revenge attack carried out to deliberately injure or disfigure victims.
Often, the assaults are carried out because the victim has, in some way, 'dishonoured' the attacker.
The attacks are most common in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Bangladesh, India and other nearby countries.
It is thought that at least 1,500 people in 20 countries are attacked in this way every year, 80 per cent of whom are women.

Not sure why the doctors and officials are confused. It's called retaliation. I you treat someone (or a group of people) like horse turds for long enough, eventually they have enough or it gets too much and they fight fire with fire - or in this case acid with acid.

Retaliation?
What ridiculous feminists dogma.
If a man throws acid over a women, that's the man's fault but if a women throws acid over a man, that's also the man's fault?
Under this feminist paradigm, would I be correct in stating that men are guilty of everything and women can do no wrong?

In this case, the women who was refused a divorce, I feel like the guy probably was not nice to her. He was probably a controlling idiot. Now hes acting like an innocent victim because he was attacked, but he probably put her through some things. Plus we all know women are generally not treated as equals to men in those countries.

I wonder if the guy had tossed acid on the girl, if he would have gotten a pat on the back from his buddies and that would have been the end of it??

You make a fair point but if a man was refused a divorce by his wife, would feminists be arguing that he was then justified to throw acid in her face?

Im just reading into the situation, what kind of man would refuse his wife a divorce? Probably not a guy that wants whats best for her.

I have no clue what a feminist would think about it, you would have to ask one.
why ?? why would this baffle anyone ? does it baffle you ?
Acid throwing assaults have been mainly carried out against women and are usually motivated by revenge. But a series of attacks against men in Pakistan's traditionally patriarchal society has baffled doctors and human rights campaigners.
