I dont know what's more sickening here.
The video of all the officers that are supposed to protect and serve, beating a man that begs for his life to death, or the sheer number of people here on ATS that defend that very action.
The video makes me loose faith in the police, many of the responses in this thread makes me loose faith in humanity...edit on 9/5/12 by Tollon because: (no reason given)
Why did the guy not simply comply with the Police officer's orders?
The fact in this case is that the dead guy battled the Police and lost.
He got what he wanted.

I am simply saying that this man is out at night apparently loitering and appearing drunk or on drugs. ...
If a person is incapable of correct social response, then perhaps that person is better eliminated.
On a side note im glad I live in England and not the US, your cops are crazy.

Abuse of authority seems to consistent throughout the world.
I'm no pinko liberal but some things are just totally unacceptable.

Watching the video made me feel both angry and sad in equal doses. And the aftermath with the cop requesting treatment for the grazed elbow ahead of the dying man is the arrogance that really tops it off.
But it got me thinking.... there are people on the street at the start of the video so there was probably a lot of people witnessing this. There was also the cameraman.
All these people WATCHED a man get beat to death.
WATCHED.
And done nothing.
I don't know if I'd have had the grapefruits to get involved but I sure know how I'd feel about myself that night and every night afterwards for not standing up for someone who was being violently beaten for no reason.
