Scary OWS video... is this a glimpse of the future?

All I have to ask is what happens when the people really do decide to fight back?

Those helmets and body armor arn't going to help against swarms of people in the thousands. And this is a serious question from me, what happens when the crowd actually does get violent from all this police abuse? Do you think they're going to treat those officers with kindness and sweet words? No, certainly not they're going to return what was given to them. Tarring and feathering in the old days will seem tame compared to what people are going to do now if this gets ugly and I gotta say that's not too far off at all. Just my opinion.

Not true, Occupy Cleveland and many other cities are peaceful and are still protesting.

Then videos of this need to be uploaded and seen. If Occupy wants to prove they are peaceful -- they need to fight back. They have to stop letting the fringe factor co-opt their movement - Will they? hmmm

This "fringe factor" does get them attention.

The police were shaken? It looked like the police were clearing the area.

Do you really think they grabbed random people? The camera was point backwards then panned forward as they quickly grabbed the chick from the bike. Did YOU see what the chick did? What if the girl threw a bottle at the police officer in the front, off camera? What if she’s HIV positive and spit in his face? The fact that it’s not on CAMERA doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. When was the last time a high-profile serial killer’s offense is was captured on video? Is that the new standard for guilt, because if so I have a video of GUILT for you? How about OWS ASSAULT?

This is a video of OWS 3 days ago attacking a couple of people for expressing THEIR 1st Amendment right. What a LOVE FOR AMERICA and THE PEOPLE OWS have, huh?

Yeah I wouldn't wanna be there when it happens(if I was a cop), it's a shame, sad really, if only they were respectable people and didn't abuse and violate peoples rights, that's what I don't get, they could just chill, it's not like they're getting paid to randomly attack people, or... are they??....

I would classify that sign those two were holding as fighting words/hate speech, so no they wouldn't be protected under the 1st amendment.

Words which would likely make the person whom they are addressed commit an act of violence. Fighting words are a category of speech that is unprotected by the First Amendment. Chaplinsky v New Hampshire, 315 U.S. 568 (1942).

Inflammatory words that are either injurious by themselves or might cause the hearer to immediately retaliate or breach the peace. Use of such words is not necessarily protected "free speech" under the First Amendment. If the hearer is prosecuted for assault, claiming fighting words may establish mitigating circumstances.

Sometimes it does look like the protestors are instigating the police, and theres a reason for that.

Lets say I yell at your dog and then I playfully push it over, and then I poke it with a stick, and I keep poking it with a stick... your dog will get angry right? and you're watching this happen, is it making you angry?
You gonna do something about it?

You might say that the protestors did something to begin with to get the cops to poke them. They did do something, they got out of the box that has been put around them and they spoke up for themselves about this corrupt system.
What did you do?

You hear people complaining that the cops are evil and treat people like garbage, but you just don't see it because you're so deep in the system that it doesn't effect you.

When I hear people saying that its the protestors or civilians fault for instigating the cops its a lot like when a rich person tells a poor person that its easy to make money, or when a non-smoker tells a smoker that its easy to quit.
You have no idea what you're talking about because you have not been on this side of the fence, but you feel you have a word in the matter just because you can see through the holes in it.

I'm not a part of the occupy movement so you can adress that to someone who is.

Also, Ted Bundy is an idividual, occupy is a diverse group of people. You cannot generalize millions of people off the actions of a few. If you went with that logic then all Tea Partiers step on women's heads. It's rather childish logic.
