You're falling into the old nature vs. nurture false dichotomy. The truth is our genetics and environment both contribute to our behavior. In fact there is an entire field of science dedicated to studying the genetic component of behavior. It's called behavior genetics.

You would only choose M&Ms if you liked M&Ms. I have a choice as to whether I like tomato soup or not. Tomato soup lovers are not born tomato soup lovers, they are given tomato soup and choose whether they like it or not. Eating skittles or M&M's is a choice. No one is born needing M&Ms. (ok I was but I am the exception LOL )

Thank you for mentioning this!!

I have to add a postscript to my other posts:

PS: I am not scientist!! These are my opinions, and I hope they are not bigoted...but I am human enough to say that they very well could be!

I just base it off of how my life is, what causes me to be who I am can't be all that different from what causes others to be who they are.

PPS: I am a believer of nature+nuture = human. OR you need a combo of both to get a lifeform...

To anyone who thinks that people choose to be gay;

Did you choose who you were sexually attracted to? Or was it just there automatically?

That's what I thought........

Here is my opinion..

Our body runs off of it's eternal soul energy. If that energy is more feminine, it's by nature going to be attracted to the male energy. (opposites attract)

However, if the physical body is a male, but has more feminine energy, it would by nature be attracted to another male.

Every human being has both male and female genes/energy, which means males will always have some feminine energy within, it's just usually not strong enough to create a noticeable attraction to the same sex.

So to answer your question. If a male has more feminine energy, than non-feminine energy, they can't help the attraction. That attraction is no different than you and I have towards a beautiful female... They feel the same exact feeling and energy while looking at the same sex...

I hope this makes sense...

Being homosexual is NOT genetic, it's environmental.

If people in your family are gay, you're not going to pass that along in your genetic makeup, but it kids grow up seeing adults of the same sex interacting in a sexual way together, then there is a strong possibility that they will emulate this behaviour.

After all, if being gay were genetic, then their parents wouldn't have had the heterosexual relationship that had the kid in the first place.

However, telling people that their "Gayness" is genetic absolves them of all personal responsibility from the choices that they made on the road to their being gay. Lady Gaga infuriates me, telling kids that "they should stand up and be proud that they're gay" and then in the exact same sentence telling them "it's not your fault".

If you're proud to be gay, take responsibility for being that way.

Sexual orientation is entirely environmental, and opportunistic.

I am in no way homophobic, having had a few encounters of my own and having many homosexual friends, but take some personal responsibility for your actions.

It cannot possibly be genetic.

If it were genetic, than the geneticist eugenicists could easily develop gene-therapy to "Fix" them.
And that is silly, no matter how hard you try you will never stop people of the same sex from kissing each other. That would be virtually impossible and absurd.

The homosexual community better wise up, because they are shooting themselves in the foot here.

If they just admitted that it's a CHOICE, than they would not face these future predicaments because they have the LEGAL RIGHT to choose their own lifestyle.

But since they claim this has nothing to do with Choice / Freedom, and it's all about being "born that way" with genetic abnormalities or deformities, than I guess the gene therapists and eugenicists are going to have a field day. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when, and that time is quickly approaching.

Saying that homosexuality is genetic is not only incorrect, it's foolish and sets them up for a "cleansing".

This isn't a very good argument. First, scientist have not identified a "gay" gene. When and if they do, who will pay for the study that will require years to study the chemical affinities, isolate the gene and protein and then clone the gene out of the dna and monitor the mutations for years thereafter?

Who would be able to afford this "gene therapy."

If it's not a money making menace to society, like AIDS/HIV or cancer, lupus, or diabetes, big pharma isn't going to pay for the research.

Secondly, homosexuality does occur naturally in the animal kingdom. Since we are part of the animal kingdom, one must conclude that homo sapiens are equally vulnerable to homosexuality as any other species.

How are some women born with a penis? How are some people born as 'intersex' which is children with sexual organs inbetween male and female? If these things can happen in the womb, why is it so hard to fathom that the baby's body formed into a male while the brain designed itself into a female?

Being male, when I look at another male my brain doesn't fire up the arousal signals. This is not my choice anymore than it is when a gay man's brain DOES fire up the arousal signals.

Based on what evidence is this statement wrong? As was previously stated by someone, young children generally do not develop sexual instincts until they reach puberty, therefore on average a child has approx 12-13 years of taking in experiences from around them to influence what sort of a person they become.

Maybe if the church didnt teach that lust was a bad thing marriages would last longer and couples would be happier. But we're told that lust is a sin. Women are taught that to put out is bad. How does that change when the couple says " I do" ? Not too easily I can tell you that. If a woman is raised to believe that sex is bad, then it really does not change in her brain after marriage.
Me, I love sex. My husband loves sex. We lust after each other constantly. It doesnt take much to get us going. I'll pinch him, he squeezes me, we tease all the time. We are married 31 years this coming Oct. People dont believe we still act this way but we do. Oh we fight like tigers too but thats another thread. LOL. Lust keeps love in a marriage. Lust is a very good thing.

Fluoride alters inter-uterine hormones while the fetus develops, altering Gene Expression during development of the brain of the child.

And how is that nonsense? Look at the rise in the number of homosexuals in modern times compared to last century, and then look at the way society has changed with regards to what kids can do etc.

How can you not see that correlation?

How do you know there is a rise?

The simple fact is there were more closets in the past, nothing more nothing less. Society is more accepting than in the past, some of you still have to catch up with modern society.

So because i believe that homosexuality isnt genetic I am branded as ignorant? If i am honest I am sick of all these homosexual warriors that think they are scientists and KNOW the answers for certain.

If being gay was determined by genes then science would be able to correct that, if the said person wanted it to be corrected.

Your whole post seems based on the premise that having gay sexual encounters is wrong and sinful. You know what, screw that. There will never be a shortage of babies being born, so if people are born gay, if they are gay by conditioning, if they are bisexual, bi-curious, experimenting, I say, more power to them. If men are banging each other, then they're not killing each other. Have at it!

I quite deliberatly chose my husband. I even persued him. I saw him, I made a decision that I wanted to know him and made arragements to get to know him. Seems very deliberate to me.
