If oil permits start flying and we see lots of drilling take place in the gulf, I pray that we get a hurricane season with 5 category 5 storms that decimate the oil industry. That will teach em to f**k with nature.

Kill the oil industry and completely decimate the coastline with toxic storm surges breaking the levees??? Lets not wish that to happen.

What we need is a revolution.

Agreed one hundred percent !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone wishing for destruction of the oil industry makes me think of how we ended up in this mess in the first place! We are the ones who use Oil. We allowed this all to perpetuate under the premise of freedom for all men.
All those that say what can we do are choosing not to participate in bringing justice to our world! Some day we will wake up and realize that we have to defend our environment, ourselves and choose the way we want to live
or someone else will make those decisions for us! I hope that our environment is still here when we get around to this though!

That is one hell of a short half-life ;-) The case of the disappearing radioactive material. The trouble is, governments are so corrupt nowadays that we can't be sure whether the first story or the second story is based on fact. It is easy to imagine that you would want to hide depth charging the ocean floor with radioactive material. What can you believe any more. I just trust my instincts...

You're telling me it's a short half-life
I even googled it myself and found a story that corroborated the OP's thread, so I thought "great, now we're intentionally sinking rads into the ocean." - I come home a few hours later and boom, it's changed. (in the thread I mean)

Not that it's the first time I've seen that, mind you. Things that would be difficult for the public to come to terms with often get downgraded. Always makes me go "hmm..."

I too, try to trust my instinct with everything. But felt like I should probably correct my post in here as to not alarm anyone else if they saw it.

can't wait for government to say that pacific seafood is radiated... in the midwest, that nat gas drilling is killing off thousands of species, by the contamination of water. once the wealthy use up america or it just gets too dicey for them, they'll just move their capital to another country who will welcome them with open arms.

Yes it is! Otherwise, you would be picking rice for a dictator while members of the military do as they wish with you or anyone in your family. You would be living in squander. Be careful what you wish for. Your request just might come true.

Squander?
I think you means squalor.

And how do you know this? Are you able to peek into alternative realities and confirm that this would be the case? There are other societies that do not rely on Capitalism, Communism or Socialism, and they are doing well.

In addition, capitalism doesn't exist. It ended when the first politician took a legal bribe from a banker or corporation, and the final nail in its coffin came when the government bailed out the first bank or corporation.

And for the record, you can be arrested and detained without charge, you can have all of your property forfeited and your family can be forced by legal demand to remain silent about it. All thanks to the Patriot Act.

You think you have rights, you don't. You can be "disappeared" in the middle of the night just like a Human rights advocate in China, and there's nothing you can do about it.

And as for the OP, I haven't heard a lot about this, but I know protest in the UK against BP is growing by the day. Once this story goes global it will likely end that company. And a good thing too.

And if this is happening to the the wildlife in the Gulf, what about the human swimmers. My 38 yr. old super fit nephew is dying of stage 4 melanoma which appeared in February 2012. He was an avid swimmer in the Gulf off Ft. Myers, and did not heed our warnings. I think it is connected, but it is too late for him now. Has less than 6 months now to live, as 4 major organs are shutting down.

AlJazeera actually isn't a bad source. They have Vids, Pics and scientists bios backing up the story.

My issue with the rest of the sources is...The Gulf Coast fishing industry certainly doesn't want the story out...it hurts them, BP doesn't want the story out, the US Gov doesn't want the story out...it embarrases them and will cost them credibility. Al Jazeera migth be the only outlet with no skin in the game. Actually, being owned by Arabs...they would have an incentive to back the oil industry, not expose it, if you logic it out.

Watch the reporting...judge for yourself..

The loss of every thing similar and natural for comfort is a very high price.

I'm of the opinion / belief that man has no place on this planet. Animals, most everything alive that's not human hunt only to survive unlike man who destroys everything for fun and or profit. The planet would be a true paradise if man were not one of its inhabitants.

Why is it that nobody has to pay? When currency becomes a tradeable commodity and when corporations can own corporations the doors to doom are open, because no one will be held responsible ...
