Why is the Smithsonian preventing any research into Giants?

good deal! When I created the thread I should have listed a bunch of those in foresight of what was to come, but no big deal. I'll learn. I plan on putting together a thread with all the evidence sometime in the near future. Thanks for your link though!

I thought it was amazing also! And thank you! I don't understand why people only focus on Steve Quayles interest in the Armageddon, terrorism, world war 3 and the like.Sure everyone makes predictions that are wrong. It is human to err. But he has splendid research about Giants. Very detailed, very thorough. Thank you though!

It's possible they are. They seem to have disappeared since the 1890's. It is possible that reported "alien" phenomenon is associated with them. Like I said in a new thread I started, I swear to God, everything is connected! Giants even lead into aliens.

A lot of the hoax pictures, were never meant to be labeled as real. Most of them were entered into a photomanipulation contest, the topic was giants. This is the site a lot of the "hoax" pictures was taken from. A whole bunch have been removed by the artists, because of the whole people stealing them and trying to pass them off as real. A few are still up, search giant skeletons.

im all for being open minded about things like this, and i do beleive its possible for giants to have existed, but to say that proof of giants would be proof of god and the bible being true is just plain stupid.

its like saying ''well, the bible mentions fish, fish exist, therefor the bible is fact'' really, some people crack me up

The bottom line is that All religions are pretty much bunk, designed to control the masses, keep them ignorant for the most part, and exploit them.

I would argue that the philosophies and teachings of Christ and other peace based religions in his time did nothing to control the masses. In fact Christ was considered a threat to the establishment and considered a trouble maker that subverted the "powers that were" at the time.
Many like to reduce religious messages to nothing more than harnesses you put on babies to keep them from wandering off. Not true.

If by "control" you mean not kicking in your neighbors door and clubbing him on the head, plundering his possessions, and dragging his wife back to a cave to have his way, then I for one am grateful for the influence of Christianity on the masses.

Many religious messages pointed out the worth and sacredness of a human life regardless of political position or title. How was this bad? May of in fact allowed your predecessors seed to develop, making you possible.

I have been one to believe that UFO'S/ALIENS are the same as FALLEN angels, AND GODLY angels. That the great deception is deceiving the whole world into believe that UFO's are of space origin, when they are really just demons and angels. All the abductions that end when the adbuctee invokes the name of Jesus, etc.

OP, there was an interesting show on History 2 today at 4am about Giants...I only caught bits and pieces but they referenced certain "Giants" from mythology and the Bible and actually had bones that archeologists felt were from "Giants". The show was "History's Mysteries" and as they are apt to repeat shows frequently, maybe you can catch the next airing.

The only reason why I would advocate anything coming out about the giants, is if we needed to be worried about them coming back. Other than that, let them lie. There are things out there which you do not want to know about, trust me. In many cases, the Catholics might be wrong for keeping things in the Vatican archives, but in some cases they have legitimate motives.

I'm all for disclosure of the truth in most cases, but some things do need to stay buried.

This thread is getting absolutely ridiculous and nowhere. Personally, if I were the moderator here I'd drop All the biblical/mythical stuff and concentrate on recorded/published Giant skeletal remains which have been unearthed within the past couple centuries. Some are actually quite recent. That is the logical place to start.

Not necessary, I welcome debate discussion and alternate arguments. It just seemed you were throwing the baby out with the bath water. I also think much senseless suffering and bad has come from our misinterpretation and application of religious teachings.
Where Christianity is today is pretty tolerant, and accepting of differing opinions and values. I would go so far as to say that the relatively peaceful environment created by a predominantly Christian based society has allowed Atheistic and other counter philosophies, belief systems, and arguments to fully evolve and prosper.
The true roots based Christian message (not the organized message) is pretty secure in its own skin.

The bible (IMHO) uses a lot of metaphor so how is it the term “Giants” has become a reference to the stature of these beings?

In modern times we have used the term "Giants of Industry" or pun intended "Giants of Comedy" which refers not to the height or even physical stature but being, the best at what they do.

To me the so called Giants referenced in the bible could very well just be great beings (Aliens or Humans or whatever) revered for their technology, military prowess, engineering skills, etc… Not the actual physical depictions we have always been led to believe!
