ATS live chat conspiracy

If ATS is such a big site, why aren't their more people in the ATS chat room.

It irks the feel of being run by a secret society...

With that said , the 3 times I've been in there the same people are there.

Paid informants? I dunno. Maybe some on multiple accounts.

What are your guys feelings? Is it just the the ATS live chat just came back on that theirs that few people on at any time of the day...

Let's deny ignorance and get a conversation... I just want the ATS live chat more active, and not the same people... Some I believe are paid by TPTB.

I believe it could be a pivotal form of conversation here on ATS, Real time chat is hyper connectivity in real time...

Almost like a brain. I believe.

You should be there during the ATS LIVE RADIO SHOW - t'night tends to be hopping in there during the show!

And please do not insult the members who go into chat. That will get the thread trashed + maybe more.

I'm not here to insult anyone.. I just heard it's about 40 people during the shows... That # seemed a little low to me, but I guess it's 40 active people...

I'm not here to insult anyone, I'll say it one more time. I want to help each other and solve our problems...

1 more post after this, I will be able to go into the ATS Chat. I was actually looking forward to talking to people on there and now this forum showed up just when I'm about to reach my 150 post count? That's pretty odd, but ah well. Maybe there will be days when there are a few people on it, who knows.

O shoot I forgot about that 150 post mark. I got so caught up in my abortion debate thread, it flew by. Thanks for reminding me of that. That might be keeping a lot of people out, including lurkers. Pretty smart...

I have my theories on that. This is NOT meant to offend anyone. For instance, I personally am not a big chat/IM/people person.

Perhaps ATS attracts those who are more cautious, conspiratorial, and less attracted towards social contact than an average person.

I'm pretty shy in real life so I avoid a live, chatty atmosphere like chat. Nothing wrong with it- just not my cup of tea. Perhaps it has more to do with the personality types on here than anything spooky.

I've never bothered to go in there personally and after this thread I went to take a look!

I was met with a screen that was even more anally retentive that the standard ATS rules! lol

There were so many rules that are subjective! I would most likely unwittingly break one within the first 5 minutes! lol

Perhaps this is why people don't use it?

We have manners come on now, It's not to difficult to be civil.

I mean it might look intimidating, but give it a try! It's just like chatting IRL!

Except with a few restrictions of course. ATS is the moderator.

Ive never been able to enter it. I get the pop up to be civilized, but thats it. Their isn't an accept button or ability to scroll down (it does appear the text is cut off).

In short, this is not "Chat Roulette" or IRC, this is ATS. Act as though you would in a well-appointed room full of like-minded strangers, civilized. Don't be one of "those people."

That is the last line on the screen and its only the top half of the letters.

Really? But everything mentioned was subjective, not definitive. Before ever using that thing I would want these following terms defined.

insulting, demeaning, or derogatory

disruptive, juvenile, vulgar

civilized

one of "those people."

Also you say it is like IRC chat (i have no idea what that is) but here it states... "this is not "Chat Roulette" or IRC"

It doesn't seem like a place I want to be to be honest. Agreeing to the uptight terms of ATS was nearly too much for me already! lol

The chat room gets soooooooooo busy and is soooo fast, I cant keep up with any convo. I feel like a wall fly and all I hear is "chatter chatter chatter chatter" I just cant get into the chat thing.....

But I can say that the chatters during the show are pretty amazing!

I simply don't use the live chat because I would rather my thoughts remain engraved on this forum in the form of publicly viewable posts. It's a waste of my time to share my thoughts in a medium where they'll simply be lost and not read by many people.

I can't figure out how to use the new chat feature. I get the screen with other people chatting, but I don't see a box to type in?
