First and foremost.. I think it is necessary to point out that this is not a Pro Romney Argument. Romney and Obama are two peas in the same pod. I urge each and every one of us to vote third party this election cycle and end this two party monopoly on American governance.

There is no "lesser evil" there is only two people who pander to different people yet have the same views when it comes to their voting record.

In 2012, lets throw a wrench in their plans. Lets write in candidates, vote 3rd party and reclaim the ability to actually choose our leaders. Please urge everyone you know to do the same.

Without further ado here are my 10 reasons not to vote for Obama this election cycle. Please add in your reasons with your replies as I hope for this thread to be a resource for us in the future and I would like to hear what I left out. I am sure we can come up with thousands of reasons to throw this bum out.

My 10 reasons not to vote for Romney will be created in the near future unless someone else would like to go for it in the meantime.

My idea for this thread came from a reply I posted in this thread

#1
Obama has added $6 trillion to the national debt in his one term.

#2
NDAA. Indefinite military detention, no attorney, no trial. Nothing else needs to be said. He could of easily vetoed the bill and had it go through congress again with this section removed.

#3
He signed an extension to the patriot act despite running on a platform that attacked the Patriot act and promising that if the extension crossed his desk he would not sign it.

#4
Libya. Obama authorized military action in Libya (otherwise known as war) without consulting congress, this alone is an impeachable offense in my eyes. His reasons for not consulting congress, he wanted to legitimize the UN... His words.

#5
Obama care. No other president in the history of the country has ever assumed that they have the power to force american citizens to purchase a product. The federal government obviously does not have this power.

#6
Obama has authorized the use of military drones to attack country's we have not declared war with. We are killing innocent people with these drones in Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia and only god knows where else.

#7
Despite Obama claiming to be against SOPA, he went ahead and signed ACTA.

#8
Eric Holder and the "Fast and Furious" debacle.

#9
The Bailouts.

#10
The seizure of GM and Chrysler, the transfer of bondholder wealth to unions, and the dumping of the GM stock at a loss

So there is my list. What is on your list?

Pretty decent list. They are the major points most Republicans make daily on CNN...

Still?

He will beat Romney.

One reason to vote for Obama: Mitt Romney!

I can't bring myself to do it(vote for Obama)...but Romney will not get my vote.

I'll agree with you...but add a caveat. We definitely have to vote out Obama. I agree. No question. The future of our nation is decided by the vote in Nov and that is sure no understatement this time around. However......

With Obama...Please, as you note by saying write-ins, lets make sure every incumbent of either party who has been there more than 2 years, is shown the door. I don't care if he's the dear old grand dad of your political district and everyone just loves HIM while hating everyone else. Everyone feels that way, it seems, so everyone gets re-elected.

Lets toss Obama...but EVERY office holder as well, right behind him. House members come up every 2 years and Senate comes up on alternate elections every 6 per term. That means we have only 4 years and 2 elections to effectively flip the House right down to the last rotten member. Seniority makes no difference when the vote doesn't work.
The Senate takes a bit longer...but within a fairly short time we can have *EVERY* current Office Holder OUT...if people will just knock off the 'everyone BUT my guy is bad' garbage. They ALL have to go.

You are obviously quite intelligent and I totally understand
where you're coming from.
However..
I can answer all your reasons for not voting for Obama with 3 things.
1. He had to because Bush broke the world.
2. The pentagon is the real power.
3. You have to purchase auto insurance .

I'm not trying to discredit your work by any means,
but if you are going to vote, it's no contest.
Romney is terrible. He doesn't stand a chance.

I'm really worried about what ALEC and the Oil comp
are going to do to ruin the US between now and Nov.
I think they can do some real damage with unlimited
cash and Black Water on speed dial.
Energy Comps know if Obama wins they are gonna pay
taxes for the first time ever. That makes them angry.
We wouldn't like them when they're angry.

Surprisingly, Obama did stuff.

However, the choice is...do we vote for Obama, whom is saying he wont do certain things and may end up doing them, or do we vote for Romney, whom will most certainly do certain things as it is his platform campaign promise.

Consider your list..after each one, ask the question "What would McCain have done?" now ask yourself "What would Romney have done?"

You will see there wouldn't be a moment of apology, a could have vetoed but held nose and signed it anyhow..it would be a throw a party and sign away. It would be a we are already at war with Iran moment, etc...

Your reasons are because Obama is further right than you like in many of your reasons...so, the answer is to elect in someone much further to the right? Not seeing the logic.

There is no more left choice...there is no liberals...there is only moderate Obama, or now fully in the right republican representation. Ron Paul is not going to be running, so its time to look clearly at who is up.

And as far as debt goes

Mitt Romney's plan

Debt over next decade: Adds $250 billion, increasing debt to GDP to 86%.

Costliest proposal: Reduce corporate taxes, which would increase debt by $1 trillion.

Biggest cost saver: Reduce federal workforce costs, saving $530 billion.

Mitt would create a trillion dollar gap by reduction of taxes for corporations (after all, they are people, my friend). and attempt to make up for it by firing a ton of people (which still wouldn't make up for his hammering, and make tons of people unemployed..meaning less taxes/more welfare/etc).

give me 10 reasons to elect Romney.

I have to agree.. If he is voted back into office we are doomed. I could care less what you think about Romney, Its beside the point. Anyone is better than this guy. His second term is going to be crazy. He wont be worried about getting voted back into office so he is going to turn us into a socialist society. He has even said so. Gas prices will go up because that is what he wants to happen. He wants us all driving electric cars. He wants us to all go green whether we have the money to or not. Your taxes will go through the roof because he is going to let the tax credits fall off that have been in place for many years to help us every day people out. Their idea of the wealthy starts at a household making 50k or more. Thats not wealthy. Thats just getting by. Their terminology is flawed. He is out to help the welfare leaches and that's it. The military will keep getting smaller and smaller and eventually this invasion from the south is going to catch up with us and we will all be speaking Spanish. Get ready for it. You can hate on Romney all you want but right now we have a president that is forcing things down our throats, trying to socialize us all and that isn't even an American Citizen. The guy is nothing but a bad of lies and has been since day one but people wanted "change". Change isn't paying my bills or putting $4 a gallon gas in my car. I am and its getting harder. Maybe you people that say you will vote for this idiot again are ready to pay $6 a gallon for gas and have your pay checks shrink by about 20% but I'm not. We are no longer the super power we once were. Were a laughing stock and the world knows it

Bush didnt break anything. Was he perfect? No but better than what we have now and way better than Clinton who was impeached. He was handed a pretty bad lot from Clinton. He put more money in our pockets and gas prices were lower. No other president had the kind of problems to deal with that he did. 9/11 was a nightmare. I cant imagine how Gore or Obama would handle that mess.

The pentagon has some power but they are being weakened every time we cut programs and cut spending to the military so we can give money to other countries.

And really? Auto Insurance. You have a choice to own a car, you have a choice on what kind of insurance and where to get it. You can go as cheap as you want or as expensive as you want or you can just ride the bus or a bike. Your not going to have those options with health insurance. Have you been overseas and talked to people with this type of insurance? They hate it because if they take the defaults and just have the government insurance it takes forever to get to the doctor and it isnt great. The people with money and better jobs still pay for insurance and they upgrade so they go to the front of the line and they get better treatment.

You have to purchase auto insurance if you want to drive, not if you simply want to live in this country.

I am almost wondering if this is poorly done satire..sounds like incoherent ramblings of Stephen Colbert mixed with the tin foil troops.

Anyhow, can you source where obama said he is wanting to turn us into a socialist society in his second term? You said he even said so.
a youtube clip should work...lets make sure its not doctored of course.

and incidently, the watershed mark for being "rich" is making 250k a year or more..and yep, that is actually quite well off...granted, a person making 250 a year is at the bottom end of rich compared to someone making 10 million a year, but still doing multitudes better than the average worker..so, the plan is (or at least was..hense why he was elected into office) remove the Bush Tax Cut Stimulus for the very top earners which was due to expire years ago by that socialist Bush....thats a increase in 4%, not 20%, for the very top.

But what are facts when you can give a diatribe of emotional nonsense.

Yes, because everybody has that attitude.

Obama and Romney are the same choice. They pander to different people and vote the same way. We have a no choice, choice.

We are being played. Obama or Romney... it makes no difference, we will get the same thing from either, only the rhetoric will change, not the outcome.

Most everyone will use the health services eventually...one of the flaws in life is that we eventually start breaking down...and when that happens, someone calls an ambulance.

Auto Insurance is required only if you plan on using the road...however, if you 'accidently" had to drive, your not exempt from requiring insurance...
People don't plan on getting sick...but people do, everyone does..not a single person has ever not gotten sick and ultimately died from it..batting 100% here. So, until such a time as disease, sickness, accidents, and death is overcome, then its fair to say there is a very high percent chance (like 99.99) that you, me, and everyone else will be using the hospitals, emergency rooms, etc.

So...insurance mandates seems to be very comparable to auto insurance mandates

You hear that a lot
Yet, Obama signed in the Lilly Leadbetter Act, repealed DADT, created a improvement of healthcare (still incredibly and woefully short of anything sensible or effective mind you..damn republican plan of nothingness), Created a consumer protections act, Passed Dodd-Frank (reform wall street), etc...

How can you say they are the same? No...no no no...the right would NOT have passed these things. As a matter of fact, they plan on repealing them all, and still stand in the way to make them effective, stumbling the process, etc.

Its like a nun praying and a serial killer ripping apart people..no, they are not the same, nor will the outcome be the same by putting either one in charge of watching people.

I agree there is no liberals up there to choose...but there is a difference...choose a centerist, or a fringe right puppet corporatist. But make no mistake, there is absolutely a difference in rule.

Since you say what you say in your OP, why not change the title to "10+ Reasons not to vote for Obama or Romney."

By saying not to re-elect Obama, you basically default to Romney, which happens to be even worse!

Yes, except you will be covered by the person who owns the car you are driving, assuming you didn't steal it.

The difference is that I can choose not to own a car if I don't want auto insurance. I would have to choose not to continue living if I don't want to have health insurance. If you can't understand that difference I don't know how else to explain it.

They are very different topics. Some people choose not to have health insurance because they want to pay out of pocket. why should they no longer be allowed to do so? I don't have health insurance because I am young and don't get sick often and would rather save money than waste it on something I don't currently need, why should I be forced to buy it?

Really? Wow. Your barely veiled patronization is surpassed only by your unbelievably simplistic and fallacious assertions.
1. The world isn't "broken."
2. The "Real Power" resides in whomever you give it to.
3. No you don't.

Thats ok, You can make fun of me if it makes you feel better.. Many of the programs that people do or do not qualify for cut off at 50k. And in the past they have referenced that as a wealthy point. I know I dont qualify for crap but if the tax cuts fall of I will be taxed a lot more than I am now. Romney wants to remove tax deductions for the rich which would do the same thing but only affect the very rich rather than affecting me. If I am wrong I apologize but in the past many of the programs they put in place to help the middle class or to tax the wealthy have been cut at 50k household income.

As far as Obama and Socialism. Most of what he has said have been through his actions and his support of socialist programs and I cant find the exact quote I was looking for where he said something to the affect that he though Socialism was a great way to live or something along those lines but here is an article that spells out some of his social beliefs.
