I think you are going to do OK. Don't worry about points, stars, and flags. If you do you will end up PLAYING TO AN AUDIENCE and will not be posting from your heart. Post what resonates with you and respond to other's posts honestly and respectfully. (Something that I am guilty of not always doing which has cost me some points as well.)

BTW are you related to Teddy Roosevelt?

It is actually based on several various factors. I think when they discovered that your "avatar" was in fact your senior year high school yearbook picture that sealed your fate. That of course is just my theory.

LOL, why can't we star posts in the board forum section anyway?

If you are in the negative, therefore in debt to ATS, it means you have to stay longer and contribute more posts in effort to pay back all the debt you owe them. It appears you have the ability to pay off your debt in a relatively short amount of time, unlike some who are in debt for life and will never have the ability to consider themselves as more than 'slaves' to ATS

Consider a 'pay as you go plan' in an effort to keep your life in a debt free state!

Posting from my heart's what got me in trouble (both the warning and T/C violation).

My Avitar? no, not HS... but I still got a 'baby-face' for my age I guess (45 in that pic, 49 now).

Rooseveelt? No. But my ancestors have been here since before the revolutionary war and fought in every major war there's been... WWII my grandfather worked the Manhattan project... that was fun - I got the special tour when I was young and also got to attend the Atom Bomb festivals.

ATS uses Fractional Reserve Lending?

Yes the points system does have meaning why else would it be being used even if to some they could not care less.

But I would not worry too much it is not like the soccer league when if you fail to gain enough points by victory over others you are relegated - Imagine that relegated from ATS premier League to Facebook division one.

I enjoy your posts and your humor by the way - can not comment on point deductions as I do not know what the comments were or why they were seen as point deductible I can not comment

I had points taken from me and some given - ATS giveth and ATS taketh away.

I used a bible quote to hint at what I might put into my wine-sack (in what seemed a suggested post apocolyptic lawless scenario). The warning was for excessive use of "#" characters to imply an extreme rant, ended with a
motion demonstrating I was only playin.

Irony it seems is a double edged sword if misunderstood and most often it is.
I watched a great movie "Name of the Rose" The medieval Church at it's finest - Burning Heretics who dared to search it's secret library of forbidden books - The most forbidden book being Humour by Plato.

Geeza, i have to admit that i could'nt care less about mine or any one else's point count.

That being said, i myself am in a negative points position and for what? i will tell you,i cracked a joke. Not an offensive joke,or a racist,or sexist,or even a sectarian joke.I simply asked an amusing question about someone's name and was docked 1000 points and told by a mod i was being rude.
As i have said, i could'nt give a toss about points but one thing i am not is rude,i was livid.I do not want any one thinking im rude.
Then i thought, maybe i had without meaning to, so i u2u'd the member and he said no offence was taken and he actually laughed at my joke.I mentioned this to the mod and no joy.

So i was penalised for a mod not understandig a joke.....now thats funny.

Anyway dont worry about it worse things happen.

Maybe it was a cultural thing - You know how jokes get lost in translation - USA humour for example has subtle differences to say UK which can be rather dry. I know some warm hearted dry remarks I make to my Canadian friends as one example go down like a lead balloon
Perhaps Martian humour would not easily be understood by Earthlings if you know what I mean Marvin

In my humble opinion (IMHO), that's another demonstration of a situation like mine. A standard unmeasured penalty for a minor 'offense'. So someone considered your post rude - easy to comprehend how that can happen. But rather than 1000 point reduction into negative value at ATS... I would think something like a few points with an escallating scale for repeat offenses would be more constructive for all involved.

In a related story of an analogy sort. I once rented a room with full house access from a nice woman. Everything was fine till 1 day I made the mistake of leaving a door unlocked when I left the house. It scared her from a security perspective. I said that I understood but realistically I had a problem with being suddenly perfect. I handed her a $30 (10% my rent) and said here - let this 'fix it' this time. If there's ever a 'next time' let the penalty I pay be double up to the full price of the rent. She said "ok". After it happened a 3rd time she was laughing at me and appreciated the method of correction as being fair.

It never happened a forth time.

I honestly do not know how many points I have , Until I read your post I never even thought about them. I have no use for them. I will have to check and see what I have after I finish this post. For all I know I may be in the red too.
I wouldn't let it bother you. Just make some excellent posts and you may get an applause. That might help.
