You are correct sir, we do get an illness if we get no vitamin C its called scurvy, look it up. teeth fall out,skin turn pale/yellow and you go crazy and die.

Obviously you are twisting the truth about your large doses and only peeing out the excess. Anyone that takes large doses of Vit. C without working up to large doses will do more that "pee" it out, sever diarrhoea is likely to occur. So if you are thinking about mega dosing Vit. C go slowly!

Excellent book by Pauling called "Vitamin C and Cancer", you'll also read how the FDA screwed over his tests. If you think the FDA is here to protect you think again, it's all about Money and Lies. Big Pharma and much of the Medical Profession are about Money and Lies. Now they want to Take Over the off the shelf Vitamins and Supplements for our own safety because we're all so stupid...lol The last report I read Vitamins and Supplements killed something like 6 people in 6 years while Prescribed Drugs Kill Over 100,000 People Every Year. What we should be doing is suing these basterds into bankruptcy.

Instead of taking Vitamin C several times a day as it only stays in your system 3 hours, take Timed Release Vitamin C without rosehips as it's good for 8 hours. It's all about MONEY!!!

(PS: I dropped my cholesterol (and LDL) by 50 points over the span of 8 months simply by researching and dealing with it holistically through diet (my dr. wanted to stick me on lipitor), so I know the power of diet and nutrition first hand, so I hope you reply

I would like to say that, after reading and posting on this thread last night, including posting that I was going to experiment on myself with C for 30 days:

All night last night I dreamed my teeth were falling out.

First a front tooth was loose, it fell out. Then a back tooth fell out and in trying to put it back in (dream, remember!) it shattered to pieces in my hand. Apparently the scurvy symptoms invaded my dreams.

You can just google it, or search a book on dream interpretation.

Well that is very interesting! I do remember once as a child still losing teeth dreaming they all came at once! That's the only other time I remember a dream with tooth loss.

I definitely do not fear change in the way of taking vitamin C, so maybe there is some buried fear in there I've not noticed yet!

There have been a couple people on the thread talking about the powder form of ascorbic acid. I'm not an expert on it, and the only time I've taken it is the quote reproduced in your post. I'd be interested as well in more details from people who know more than I do about the various forms the substance comes in.

My humble (or not) take is that (given several parameters related to time, space and civilisation - seriously...) :

Vitamin D + Vitamin C + Magnesium

are a pretty good cocktail to begin with.


Then come vit. B (many different things inthere, B12 interesting), then vit. E, then Selenium (specially for aging persons).


Others stuff not seem to be too rare in today's food & moods than required for our normal (if not ancestral) health (but could be wrong, of course).

ETA : Once again, most vital organs are packed with Vitamin C be it 100 or 50 times your *normal* serum levels, - and L-Acid Ascorbic aka Vit. C is available for about 30 U$D per KILOGRAM (2.2 lbs) on the first google resut when just striking in ascorbic acid kg.

ive been taking 1000 mgs each morning with 32 oz of water for 2 months now.


can really tell the difference in my respitory and sinus.



but yeah ive known since junior high that vitamin c is an immune booster.. it says it on the bottle



great info OP, just dont know if its a huge conspiracy like you make it out to be

What about vitamin K? Doesn't that help our pineal gland? Maybe that's important too.

More hype, like usually.
I take up to 10g of Vitamin C per day. The only thing it ever did to me was give me a more shinny skin. That's it. never cured anything.

Vitamin D3 is another one. Done 10000 iu per day, never noticed a damn thing. I now take 5000iu per day until I have no more and I'm done with the money wasting.

Invest your money on Chlorella/Spirulina/Maca, etc, at least with those you actually feel something for a change.

I'm not going to complain about someone spreading the word about a basic necessary nutritional vitamin, especially because it seems there are people here who have not heard of vitamin C before, but I do have to say that I'm shocked that there are people in the world for whom the necessity of ingesting vitamin C was unknown before reading this thread. My grandmother was no conspiracy theorist, and she was harping on the necessity of "getting your vitamin C" since the Great Depression. For anyone who didn't know this before, please, stop limiting your sensory input to what the internet and television feeds you, and do a little bit of basic research yourself. When I was a child, I knew all about vitamin C - it's kind of scary that there's anyone who wouldn't know about it today - maybe there is a conspiracy.

Considering our food, water and air are poisoned it'll probably give us 2 maybe 3 extra days to live. Not really worth it.

Wow. I thought everyone knew that you need vitamin C. Along with many others (D, E, B, etc). I distinctly remember learning about this in school as a kid when being taught about foods, and later on in Health class in HS.

At my age, I take a "One A Day" vitamin for men each day. It has 60mg of vitamin C in it. However, I also consume several citrus fruits on a daily basis, that also contains C in it (oranges are my favorite).

I grew up hearing that vitamin C can help keep colds away.

In any case, I'd be surprised at the amount of people that didn't know we need to either take vitamin C, or have plenty of foods that contain it.

Sailors during the old days of sailing used to be plagued with Scurvy because of the lack of fruits and food containing vitamin C.
