This is only a few of the mass shootings over the last couple of months. Its not including the single shooting incidents or the huge amount of suicides carried out with guns. Its only the start of April and the bodies are piling up from gun crimes in the US. The US society is sick. It needs help. The gun needs to be taken off the american citizen. These statistics are only going to get worse. THe US like a lot of soceities are under serious pressure. Its people are angry, anxious, scared, struggling and unfortunately trigger happy. How many people in the US are at breaking point and are armed?

The only excuse that is wheeled out time and again is, 'its part of our constitution' or protect ourselves from the government. What a joke. The US society are completely at each others throats. The governments have nothing to worry about.

Well did you ever think it might be time to change the constitution. Its 2012. Maybe its time for a new one?

The population of America needs to be disarmed. You don't hear too much from the government because they seem to be content for the citizens to be killing each other.

The problem is , its like trying to get an alcoholic to stop drinking or a junkie off drugs. They are so addicted to their drink or drugs or weapon they are blind to the truth.

When a population is allowed to arm themselves with small weapons of death , and when there is so many guns in the population, doesn't the population become a weapon of mass destruction.

How do you convince a nation to grow up and realise its time to put down the guns?

Very good article i found here while looking around on this;

Come and take them, skippy.

I'll give you the ammo first. Think I am kidding? Try me.

What you are seeing is the result of years of anti-gun lies and rhetoric, making people afraid of guns. Looks like it worked on you.

So people don't carry them for protection like many should. Businesses don't allow guns on their property as a condition of employment, rendering their employees helpless to defend themselves when some disgruntled ex-employee saunters through the front door to melee on their former boss and whoever else happens to be around.

Guns aren't allowed on college campuses, rendering the students helpless to defend themselves when some half-baked student cracks under pressure and decides to take it out on the people around him.

Sorry to say you are going to get shouted down and schooled. Brace yourself.

So only the power-hungry, sadistic leaders with no morals, ethics nor compassion for fellow human beings should have the guns?

The same people that have proven time and time again throughout history that they will use force, kill millions for profit, drop bombs on innocent people for power and turn a blind eye to millions around the World that are killed every day by their invasions of lesser Countries for their own material gains?

You want the people on the receiving end of these atrocities to all be unarmed?

No thanks,

Peace

Why now when violent crime is floating around record lows?

Shouldnt you have come up with this great idea like 30 years ago?

ETA: Hasnt this been done to death?

Any thread that has anything remotely to do with guns, objects that look like guns, knives, a murder, an attack, a sock puppets or anything at all the thread eventually devolves into a gun rant.

When you convince its criminals to grow up and realize it's time to stop being criminals.

How about instead of disarming the public (which would leave the guns in the hands of criminals, by the way
), we change the things that cause people to get so disgruntled with society that they feel the need to do those "mass shootings"?

It isn't time to take guns from the American people. It is time to take them away from the criminals. The only people that can disarm criminals are other people with guns. Unless you can convince the American people you can talk your way out of being raped, robbed and murdered. The American people will stand their ground. No one likes the crimes you just linked to. However that is the exact reason people will not relinquish the only self defense they possess. You may chose to be a sitting duck waiting to be devoured by ravishing wolves however the general public is not that naive.

The Constitution is the Law of the Land, if you don't like it leave. If you are not already here, stay the hell out.

Funny how the folks over there in the UK think that US Citizens shouldn't bare arms. Tell me what you think about guns when a standing army comes in and slaughters your people.

Facts are without guns tens of millions die at the hands of tyranny.
Look and see for yourself.

why now?

we are supposed be becoming more educated, more aware, more enlightened, more understanding, more compassionate, more intelligent, better people?

there is no future for a society where a person carries a weapon in his pocket that can end the life of another human (quite often a child or a relative) in the blink of an eye.

Instead of using an appeal to emotion I suggest you come up with some actual meat to back up your idea of gun bans. Until then I will direct you to a rather good article about gun bans and why they work/don't work in different areas.

www.isil.org...

I can even sum it up for you

If banning guns worked, Washington, DC and New York City would be the safest cities in the country. Since 1976, it's been illegal in Washington, DC to own any handguns or to keep any type of gun in your home unlocked and fully assembled. However, Washington, DC is the "murder capital of the United States."

New York City has had severe gun control laws since 1911, yet it also ranks among the most dangerous places in the country. In both cities, violent criminals can easily obtain the most deadly weapons on the streets within minutes.

.

And yet you look at no evidence as to gun bans working. You plea towards emotion by citing a handful of tragic crimes.

What a strange world we live in. You draw the conclusion that 52 people should have/need their guns taken away while I draw the conclusion that 52 people should have been armed.

only in america do citizens feel the need to carry a gun for safety. no where else in the free world.

Every american says the same thing
"they'll get my guns off of my dead body"
or
"they'll get my guns when im out of ammo"

etc etc

i'd like to see how many actually would shoot military/govt officials when they came for the guns.

its sad that the people have to live in fear and feel the need to carry a gun with them at all times. seems so 3rd world to me.

Maybe you can convince all the criminals and psychopaths to hand over their guns?

Taking guns away from the good folks with guns will just empower the crooks to be even more bold..

A new constitution modelled after Hitler's Germany would more suit you?

People will always be able to get a gun to shoot someone if they really want to do that..

It is sad that some areas of the country are so bad that some may feel such fear. Most of those places by the way... are inner city areas where guns are illegal to own/carry.

Always having one in your home however, in case of a break-in? That's not living in fear. That's living in caution, knowing that you can't control people or events and should be prepared for anything.
