His theory relies on either the Galactic Plane or the Galactic Equator (I'm still not sure which as they are two different things but the OP continues to claim they are the same). Either way he was wrong. The Sun appears to align with the Galactic Equator every year. The solar system passes through the Galactic Plane every 30-40 million years. We last passed through it 3 million years ago. He then also make the claim that one of these is associated with a cycle involving the Long Count. The start of the Long Count is August 11, 3114 BC. December 21, 2012 will be a little over 5,100 years from this point. If the Long Count is supposed to represent a cycle and it this cycle is 5,100 years how does it correspond to an event that happens every year or every 40 million years. Anything he says after this will be built upon these premises. These premises are wrong. Therefore any conclusion he can make is false.

If we let go of our ego's for just a minute maybe the man will finish. At that point we can articulate our own arguments and truly discover the truth.

Like your replies, and agree, too many people jump right in, within minutes, so they didn't even take the time to analyze or digest the opening information.

Take reasonable precautions as certain disasters natural, man made or combination are always possible. I'm a subtle but effective survivalist, and can survive quite some time if all goes to hell, though I don't expect anything imminent.

But with predicting the end of the world a favorite past time, who knows? One day someone may actually get it right. In that case all my preparations and hardened retreat, which NO ONE knows I have. Those who know me may have assumed and If need be, I'll tell the ones who I would like to join me when and if it seems appropriate. (Free food and beer!)

I or anyone wouldn't be roughing it, hey I like toilets that flush, or the equivalent indoor plumbing and composting system.

But hey one day the world will end though I doubt its likely to be predictable. A super volcano or being hit by a big rock would provide some warning. An increase in certain military preparations and actions which I do monitor, some at least, and I look at secondary factors that announce a war is possible&/or likely.

What a bitch if the sob rock lands on my retreat... I also have a well equipped all WD capable RV, I do like to camp so its not to kooky. But it does not look out-of-place like the armored beast it is. Have made a few on a custom basis for a few clients, who don't know its my company with the machine shop from hell...

I was hoping all those poor saps who believed that religious nut and sold everything or gave it away, though people may think its their own dumb fault (well it is) but I hope they all sued his ass after he made many $$ scaring the hell out of people. I can't stand anyone who takes advantage of others, dim witted or not its still immoral, and I think he could be sued in civil court. I am going to try to explain this one more time. We DO NOT cross the galactic plane every year, and the coming event involves the alignment in a perfect striaght line of the Earth, the Galactic center and the Sun.

The difference this year from very other year is the alignment will be in three dimensions instead of two, in other words every year in the 21 of December the galactic center, Sun and earth align in TWO DIMENSIONS, not a real straight line, but since this year we will be on the galactic plane on December 21 the alignment will be perfect.
