Here's a tidy commentary on the state of American "News";

A columnist whose work is distributed by King Features Syndicate, Rather continues to speak out against alleged influence in journalism by corporations and governments. At a recent conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, sponsored by the group Free Press, Rather criticized both local and national news organizations, stating – according to reports – that there is no longer incentive to do "good and valuable news."[10]

John King is terrible, he's married to another supposed "journalist" on CNN. Does anyone know her name?

Dana Bash, they just divorced evidently.

Also, John King converted to Judaism, I didn't know you could just do that. Maybe I should become a jew on a whim too.

He probably got a pay raise package and benefits, and more exclusive guaranteed tv time and rights, and now has to speak more pro Israel things.

Even if CNN started doing some real reporting, like this UK science report below, the reports would be labeled as a joke or a hoax after the fact.

Alternative 3, a real science report in the UK, aired in June and was subsequently labeled as a joke because the public started freaking out. This report was investigating the "brain drain" of Britain, and how scientists were simply disappearing after they made it to America.

I've stopped watching due to all the pre-election coverage. I do not believe any of it anyway. I believe the elections are fixed. Nor do I trust any Politicians. They say what they think people want to hear to get elected, and then just go back on their words. It used to be when I read about an earthquake, or world catastrophe I would go to CNN to get more on the story. They are showing nothing. Lots of talk shows are now showing up too. Sort of like when MTV went from Music videos to Reality shows..All in all I am just sick to death of pre-election coverage.

Who cares to listen to Wall Street/U.S. Gov't media shills like FOX's Cavuto and Dobbs or CNN's Romans and Velshi spew out backward, misleading, propaganda about the economy and jobs day after day, year after year. Not to mention their useless economists/economics writers like Stephen Moore (Wall St. Journal) vomit out the need for more Supply-Side Socialist Economics, tax-breaks, and corporate subsidies to help the economy "rebound".

CNBC STILL pushes real estate as a "great" investment to this day and that YOU should invest in the stock market.
They all tie the economy to the Equity markets (rigged markets) and STILL want you to believe that record corporate profits are GREAT for us all when they're raking it in by the boatload off the backs of slave labor and unemployed Americans.

Put them all out of business where they belong and then move onto corporate America - boycott them all!

Yeah, but RT viewers are inadvertently sympathizing with communism. TPTB are already prepared for your "rebellion" of their news sources. RT is the same propaganda as everything else, except they know you even better because if you're watching RT, you're certainly a "type" of person.

Only people there are those hell-bent on finding an "alternative."

The "alternative" is a lie. You were made to believe you always have choices, but the wrong choices (the opposite is always still the same... you were trained to think in polarities). See, the choice to make here isn't "where I should consume my news from," it's more like "They lie to me, I should either continue watching or stop." You're only picking what seems to have "lesser consequence." Your perception is flawed here.

RT is propaganda too.

Good, they should go out of business, at minimum for not reporting the real news and being extremely biased.

The problem is, however, that the garbage is just moving online. Witness how inundated this site has been with talk of mindless non-news like Kony and Trayvon Martin over the past two weeks.

TV might be dying, but the Internet is slowly becoming the new TV.

That is right on the money. It really is.... the problem we now face is making sure the people (or as some call the 'sheeple') that they are directed to news outlets that need to be STOPPED calling "alternative news source" because if CNN viewership is down... I bet the CNN.com and twitter is growing.

Get what I'm saying?

The only people I know now that watch teevee are almost-braindead senior citizens stuck in front of the screen in nursing homes, people with little other option trying to kill time in hospital beds, and people stuck in front of the constant blare of CNN and Fox News at airport terminals waiting for their connections...

I'm over 58 and none of my friends or acquaintances watch teevee anymore; if we can afford it, we have internet connections at home and watch the occasional Netflix or Youtube video for entertainment or enlightenment, news is watched according to political leanings from a vast assortment of world-wide sources, Aljazeera and RT seeming to have the most viewership and trust, and if the money is really tight, we're reduced to an hour at a time in the local library or at the coffeeshop, or sneaking views at work if we're lucky enough to still be employed.

After not having cable for a few years, being exposed to the blare and ignoramuses on network news is astonishing. Every evening show is murder/murder/murder, and the daytime shows consist of three jackasses sitting on a couch who know utterly nothing, with the middle one being a bimbo with a short skirt, her knees aimed right at the camera, with every old drooling coot in the audience at home hoping she'll cross her legs with room to spare...

This is what Rupert was worried about, people turning to other sources for current events. People are waking up, realizing MSM is not longer concerned with telling us news but instead attempting to draw in viewers with artificial news, worthless news, and news bunnies who show more skin as the ratings and viewrs drop. The days of Krokite are gone, we use to be informed but now it is a circus act. I watch the Five only because any day now Kimberly is gonna give us that unexpected crotchshot, in one fnal attempt to keep the Five alive.....

Wait, Did CNN Just Lose HALF Of Its Viewers?

www.businessinsider.com

For the month of March, CNN was down -50% in total viewers and down -60% in A25-54 viewers (Total Day).the viewer exodus is not limited to CNN, though..."Fox News is down -17%..."

Perhaps, if I may be so bold, this is what happens to you when you continue to report stories that no longer resemble -- even remotely -- what your own viewers see outside their windows and apartments
(visit the link for the full news article)

Yes they lost them. If you do research you will find that people are now to the point of choosing tv or food. So they are unable to get the broadcast anymore, they cant pay the cable thieves any more. Ours went out in December. They then had the nerve to move the prepaid bill to the other side of the ledger as a 'debt' and so I had a fit, and sent them all notices about that same fraud the banks had done. To no avail, but I did feel better*grin* Got the reply back yesterday from the UCC div/sec. state texas and they said to register a complaint with the consumer protection division...like that did any good. Nope, greed and blind ambition makes these people stupid. Its like living in 'idiocracy' the movie...they would rather cut their noses off than to stop stealing! So, they are cutting people off...and we are deciding to NOT go back to TV!!

(somebody probably already posted this, but) there's no law that says the media has to tell the truth.
in fact the courts repeatedly find that they are not under any such obligation.
of course they're not - they're about social conditioning, not truthful education.
i.e:

"the FCC's news distortion policy is not a "law, rule, or regulation"

I am not surpised that their ratings are down so much.

I am absolutely fed up of seeing the words 'breaking news' flash up the screen when something trivial has happened or is about to happen (e.g. an Obama speech).

People are waking up, in vast numbers.

It's crap like this that makes me want to vomit.

"There is a lot of unfinished business. You deserve a rest after this term is over. Everyone knows that and a lot of thanks. But there will come a time and there is a growing expectation that you will run for president and complete the goals that you have for men and women," NBC's Andrea Mitchell gushed to Hillary Clinton during an interview that aired on Monday afternoon."

Andrea Greenspan-Mitchell, the Fed-loving little J*w that she is, is a perfect example of the toxicity that is the MSM, and why the viewers are fleeing.
