A "liberal" society would rather have the Hollywood ideal (lie) of prostitutes than face the reality of the actual life of the hooker - drugs and shame and degradation. They'd rather believe that the woman has freely chosen the lifestyle because she 'enjoys' sex - it eases their guilt for using them and their wicked hearts use it to justify their own moral less behaviour.

See, it works both ways. I know several prostitutes, what with growing up in various ghettos, trailer parks, etc over the years. Yes, some are crack addicts. Some are single moms doing the best for their kids. Some are very wealthy women who are providing a service and using the proceeds to make even more money. Some are men, who cater only to women. Some are men who cater only to men. Some are men who cater to whoever as long as they pay.

As long as certain regulations are put in place, and more importantly enforced, there is nothing wrong with legalized prostitution. It's just getting the regulations enforced that will be the problem.
