Maybe you are a news junkie (bad news is more moneyspinning for the media). If you are blind to the goodness that is all round you - in people and stories that don't make it to the front page - I feel sorry for you. With all this talk of God and the devil one might think you were religious. Sorry but I am not seeing it. Because a true believer would not be so blinkered. Heck I'm not a believer and even I can see it.

People often misinterpret the actions of Satan's to be that of God or sometimes the opposite.
After reading your post OP and several replies, it seems to me that many do not truly understand the function and deity of God. and the role of Satan.
Look out the window at a tree. Are the leaves moving in the wind? Can you see the wind? No, but you see the result of it's presence. If you doubt the goodness of God then there is not need to thank him for every breath you take. God gives us the breath, and Satan makes it hard to breath.
It is best regarding your post to understand the functions of God and Satan. If one equates these actions, not fully understanding what each can and does do, then reasoning becomes flawed.
One must first understand what God is able to do, and does do. Then one must understand what Satan is able to do and does do..as well as what he cannot do.
After understanding that Satan and God are apposed to each other, and that God is indeed very real as is Satan; Then one understands we are right in the middle of this thing.
When a man murders his entire family, it wasn't God that did it. Satan coerced the murderer into those actions
leading to ultimate evil. In the end, man preformed the evil. period...
God does not stop these things. We have free will to do as we please. We can choose that which is good or bad. Everything that happens on this earth is a direct result of our own actions.
We have done these things to ourselves. We are responsible ....Not God... Satan is known as the father of lies and convinces us to do things we should not do. God does not intervene because we are supposed to use common sense and do that which is good, just and right.
Keep in mind one thing. God does send the storms, and calamity. The most frequent reason is to get our attention so that we will stop doing that which is bad, unjust and wrong. We seldom respond to his warnings, instead becoming more like the evil side of Satan. He will increase his warnings, and soon, mankind will have no choice but to recognize the difference between Satan and God and what they do.
How do I know God sends warnings in the form of Tornado, quakes and other means?
Ezekiel-----God says "I [Alone] do all these things"

There is not one reference in the entire bible of Satan being able to bring calamity upon anyone save for Job. And that was a special case directly granted by God as a test. Otherwise, there is no reference anywhere to Satan bringing natural calamity. But mankind does so in evil form...not storms, but we murder, rape, pillage, steal, use vulgar conversations, and teach our children to lie, we covet power and greed, and have little concern for our fellow man. Then we wonder why God sends the warnings.
God has yet to get our attention. But he will...You can bet on it..What will it take?
I understand the majority of those on ATS are atheists. So I will say up front as I have said before. I will not respond to diatribes or attacks. I write this only to let the OP know what the answer to his question may be.

It's prophecy on it's way to being fulfilled when you see the NWO growing larger and more invasive. How can the Antichrist reign if his hellish system doesn't come into being?

If the Devil does do something, God said he can do it. It's in His power and His authority. Look at Job, God limited Satan on what he can do to Job. Satan is on a leash, and God only allows certain things that Satan can do to people. God even allows major things like hurricanes, earthquakes, and other disasters. There is a reason behind every act of God.

The Bible says, "For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." So, how can we even dare to even fathom how things are being fulfilled on God's time clock? His ways are vastly different than our ways, and His time clock is not our time clock.

Remember that God has no counterpart. God is above and beyond every being, because He created every being. If you want to know a counterpart to Satan, look at Archangel Michael or Gabriel, their powers are on par with Satan formerly known as Lucifer. None of these beings can breath life into anything, only God can. This is why Satan has to manipulate and deceive as many as he can to get his agenda through.

..you may find the concept of 'the tree of good and evil ' interesting - that tree means nothing more as 'dualism '. And everything downhere is full of this dualism: but the Ultimate Good is behind (above) this.

its the devils trap, to get every soul caught into (any) form of dualism; let that soul give her energy and belief and power to (any) side - because its *him* who rules both side , anyway.

There is a war being waged between good and evil. It's hard to look around... now or even a half century back and miss that fact.

God's work is in the purity of creation. The devil's work is in corrupting that purity. In between is humanity that has the free will to make choices on an individual level. We can make the call, go the path we choose and the outcome, good or bad, is not the responsibility of either the forces of light or darkness, but our own.

If we fail the test of our humanity, then it is our fault. Many people blame God or the devil for all the world's suffering and misery. But it has always been the hand of man that has dealt the cards and in the end, our day to stand before the man when accountability has its day.

Seems that you have the answer in your question. If everything has it's opposite, then God is in the life, positivity, beauty, ect.

But don't listen to me. I'm Agnostic until otherwise convinced.

I do belive in some higher power. Maybe a collective concious. Big maybe, the Christian God. However, the God of the bible is the one I keep looking for, because he's the one that allows eternal damnation.

Well he didn't actually invent eternal damnation untill he changed his name from yahwhe/jehova/elohim etc to jesus and then inspired some men to write it in the second half of the bibles some centuries later.

In the good old days the closest you could come to eternal damnation was yahwh not speaking to you again as a penalty for consumption of blood. Obviously this was in the days before he came up with the holy spirit thing.
