This is not a proxy war for Israel.

Notice that Saddam's payments to families of suicide attackers have ceased.

There were no lies about WMDs.

"We know where they are - they're in Tikrit and Baghdad." Rumsfeld.

None have been found.

The insurgents do not speak for the Iraqi populace.

The common man regardless of nation or location wants to live in peace. That's a given. What does happen in any society is that when a power vaccuum is present it will be filled, the vast majority of the time by the purely psychotic and power hungry who use methods we are witnessing right now.

We were not fed rubbish and those who ever believed that this war would be easy, were self-deluded.

This easily includes the entire Bush administration.

Dick Cheney: Vice President Cheney insisted on Meet the Press, where he was given the entire hour, that the Iraqi people will welcome us as liberators. He spoke of France, Russia, and Germany wanting to climb on board once they see the Iraqis dancing in the streets.

Richard Perle: "This will be a cakewalk."

Others, particularly those serving in the military and responsible for sound strategy, were not so self-deluded.

Former Army secretary Thomas White said senior Defense officials "are unwilling to come to grips" with the scale of the postwar U.S. obligation in Iraq. The Pentagon has about 150,000 troops in Iraq.

However, why listen to reason?

Rumsfeld and Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz criticized the Army's chief of staff, Gen. Eric Shinseki, after Shinseki told Congress in February that the occupation could require "several hundred thousand troops." Wolfowitz called Shinseki's estimate "wildly off the mark."

GradyPhilpott, you are in serious need of a reality check dude. Cut that tv off and do some research, I am not trying to sound coersive, but wow. Try this, go to google and type Bush+lies, and regardless of what you feel about what you are reading, read. It would be good for you, if nothing else at least you will be able to generate some credibility in your denial of the obvious.

According to the news from the Italian press agencies, the 2 Italian girls may still be alive. Apparently, a newspaper in Kuwait stated that they are still alive and being treated in accordance with Islamic laws....whatever these may be..... Italian authorities are still verifying whether they are alive or not.....

Not to get this thread back on subject or anything....but has the death of these two women ever been confirmed?

Link

A second group, calling itself Ansar al-Zawahiri, on Thursday claimed to have beheaded the women, who it said were Italian intelligence agents. A video of the killings would be posted on the Internet.

The Italian government said that it doubted the authenticity of the statements posted on the Internet that the women had been killed, but stressed it was still checking the reports.

An influential association of Sunni Muslim clerics in Baghdad -- the Committee of Muslim Scholars -- said that the two Italians were probably still alive and being held by a criminal gang.

It's the last part that got me wondering about the women.

don't think the deaths have been confirmed yet, bleys....
I believe notice of their "killing" was posted on the same site as Mr. Bigley's.....

both the British and Italian govts are saying the claims might
not be legit, as far as I know....

maybe they're dismissing them to prevent public outcry?

either or I hope the two women aren't being held by a criminal gang....
death might be easier for them.....
god only knows what a gang of muslim extremists would do to 2 captive females

They are dismissing so after Kuwaiti sources said that they had not been killed....

If the men had been gentle, considerate and pacifist, they would have never kidnapped them in the first place.....I dread to think what they could do to the girls too....

How very sad....what a terrible thing to happen. These creeps should burn in hell. What cowards...they stand there with their faces covered! When they are located they should have the same done to them in the middle of town so everyone can see it!!

My hearts goes out to their families....

That is all they said, no more datails

One of the things that upset me the most is executing innocent women
But this is a Muslim world (where women have no rights) so what did I expect?

And I suppose that in the US, with no civil authorities, a civil war, and gang rule, you would see nothing but kindness and well-being? Uh-huh.

Do you think that bombing abortion clinics and sniping doctors that work there is the pure work of Christianity, or the actions of people who take it to an extreme? Same principle with Muslims. But if you think stereotyping makes the situation easier to understand, then yes, all Muslims are running around with scimitars cutting off infidels' heads.

I think the two girls are death, they simply do not want to admitted nor they want to make it official to prevent some kind of violent manifestations
