Sorry guys, this is not real. Would be awesome if it was though.
I think this movie was made for some inspirational film festival or something.

Finally, a recent blog post on the Dutch site Humo.be, has the most damning circumstantial evidence: Mr. Smeets’ LinkedIn profile lists him as working as an engineer at Pailton and Philips. Both companies deny that he has ever worked for them.

Good attempt but its never going to happen until he gets his bones replaced with lightweight material and i think he would have flown further without the flapping,it was just creating drag at that speed
Edit .. did you change the video? Thats not the video i watchededit on 20-3-2012 by 12voltz because: (no reason given)
A patch up during test flights, and the video being not being shot in 1 take could easily explain that.

so why is there not two black patches in the video to start with? how does the second one appear by magic? how did somebody repair a tear in the fabric with tape in the couple of seconds that the camera pans away for when the last we see is EVERYBODY running awa from the device?

Where is the sun in all this? Oh yeah, look at the shadow directly below the wing. The "sun" is directly overhead.
