Because that's the only way of having a consistent frame of reference. You don't want to count these 188 days using different reference points, do you?

Are you being serious?

Because that way you know exactly how many days have passed.

For example, it is now the 21st in the UK, but in some parts of the USA it is still the 20th.

So I wouldn't calculate the time between two dates using the UK on one end, and the USA on the other as it would put the calculation one day out.

So by using the Japanese local time as a reference I can tell you that exactly 189 days passed as the sun revolves around the sun between the two earthquakes.

Now what? What good does that do, other than possibly prepare every 188 days.

Then the next step is to find a geological pattern, so people can be evacuated.....

It doesn't matter which time zone you use, the result will be the same, providing you use that same time zone as it was at the moment of the quakes, 189 days, theory debunked.

Well, it has actually struck 376 days after the Japanese one, 376 / 2 = 188.

The Japanese one struck March 11th 2011, 2:46pm local time (GMT +9)

This one struck roughly 9:00pm GMT on the 20th March, that would put Japan 6am 21st March, and it is a leap year, so that gives 376 days since the Japanese quake. (minus 8 or so hours)

People shouldn't be working off their own time zones, lol.

Okay, i'm new to ATS.

Just thinking, 188 days, thats practically half a year take a few days. So if there is something causing these big quakes, then perhaps our planet is in opposition to something big, or in alignment to it that is causing them, and whatever it is, it must be moving very slowly, but moving nevertheless. Could it be something to do with Uranus?

Might be worth looking at planetary aspects for these events, and see if any one of them is a common factor at these times. Also see if there has been any changes to these planet/s that are causing this effect.

Also, it might just have something to do with where the planets in our solar system are at this time. Does anyone know what the cycle is from all planets being aligned, to being aligned again?

Just a few ideas to throw out there...

I know but I'm discouraged and amazed. Instead of letting people who were honestly trying to wait until tomorrow and research, without a bias, this whole day was spent telling people to wait before drawing conclusions, explaining how the day count was off, and responding to/being angered by trolls....

I'm not completely versed in most of this gibberish, but if it's 1 day off but stuck around that margin of error for the last 5 or whatever big earthquakes, that would be statistically unusual. So an exact date might be 1/100, plus or minus a day might be 1/80. The point is there is a pattern against chance when there shouldn't be one. If you're being picky over plus or minus a day, and ignoring statistical significance, kinda makes you an idiot.
