Ummm, If I'm to presume that you speak or every christian, then yes it is your belief.

Way to take the exception to the rule and make it the definition.

Please show me how I have invented any of my assertions on how your god hates free will and critical thinking.

He doesn't hate that. He created us with that. He hates when we use our free will and critical thinking to glorify ourselves or something else He created instead of Him.

The TRUE God and creation are one. It is impossible to place an awe of creation above God. Your god is an impostor! His being so easily threatened by the glory of the TRUE God, is proof of his blasphemy.

I think you missed the point of that post....I was not heeding the advise of a Christian...I was telling him his logic was illogical and irrational. You cannot go through life fearing everything!!

I HAVE read the Bible but I'm not sure what prophecies you're referring to. Can you please enlighten us with all the prophecies in the Bible that have come to pass?

You have a chance to get some big numbers here, you show me a biblical prophecy that has come true and I'll sign up to stand on a soap box and wave an "the end is nigh" sign. Show me just one Bible Prophecy that has come true - and something that can be specifically tied to this event too, not some abstract string of language that could be applied to hundreds of different situations.

The above link has a detailed list that will help you out but some of the more recent ones are Israel regaining their land and being a derision to the world . The fact nobody could make anything grow in that land until the Hebrews came home. Ow the desert flourishes just like prophecied . The fact the world tries to divide the land of Israel has happened and many many more have come to pass in the last few decades.

This thread needs to stop. People pushing on atheistic/agnostic side need to stop commenting and so the two very strong and devoted faithers must too. These threads do nothing more than already widen the two side gap. This isnt going to change anyones mind or instill thought out conversations. This just throws wood on the already out of control fire.

To study nature is to study the nature of god. Therein lays the essence of god. The god of the OT is not the creator of existence, but one who dwelt within the creation and among the created. Your god can't touch my God.

And I would just like to personally give every body a round of applause on both sides of the fence for keeping this reasonably civil and interesting to say the least I think we have all managed to keep our powerful emotions on this touchy subject reasonably under control, and we've yet to have one post removed!! That doesn't happen very often regarding the religious subject.

I don't post in these threads to convert anyone, and they are kinda fun. But, as a person that was brought up in a Pentecostal household, where fear and ignorance was the norm, and after having left the faith behind, found myself being bullied, threatened and persecuted by family and former friends for the rejection of said fear, ignorance and threats, I hope that any meek person reading these posts would find, within themselves and these posts, the courage to stand up for themselves and against these hateful threats of damnation without impunity. There is no hell!

I thought the point was how "angry" Christians get. I'm not angry at all, earnest contention isn't anger or vitriol. If this really isn't about anger then that's a T&C violation. Should we alert the mods that this is a troll thread then?
