Of course it REVOKES those previous orders!
You can't have previous orders conflicting with NEW orders. The languages in this new order is virtually identical with the order issued in 1994 and 1988.
Again here is the 1994 E.O.
Executive Orders And Laws relating to National Emergencies Laws
EXECUTIVE ORDER 12919
NATIONAL DEFENSE INDUSTRIAL RESOURCES PREPAREDNESS
READ THOUGH it and tell me, how is the one Obama signed AT ALL different from the one signed back in 1994?
All you are doing is using this as another sad attempt to smear Obama for upholding his office. If this executive order was so offensive to you, why didn't you demonize Bush for signing the same thing back in 1988 or Clinton for it in 1994? Did you even KNOW they had signed these orders, and that this 2012 version was a virtual copy of those previous orders?
TextSec. 904. Effect on other Orders. (a) The following are superseded or revoked: (1) Section 3, Executive Order No. 8248 of September 8, 1939, (4 FR 3864). You'll find that it does give the president unprecedented power. The specific word changes in for instance Obama 102 and Clinton 102 the difference is 1 word.
The word "threat" is replaced by the word "need".
This alone changes the entire purpose of the EO from being a National Defense EO to an all inclusive, obstruction busting, potential nationalization of all industries, and changes the US to a Neo Socialist nation. So yes it does make for the worst case scenario for a conservative, Republican, or libertarian, independents and Liberals will see it as something completely different. I know because I am one of them.
I see it as the Check Mate of the Conservative / Right / Republican / Libertarian agenda. Game over. No more congressional obstructionism. Since everything can be tied to a National Defense "need" it gives the admin a free hand to act to improve the economy, and right a lot of wrongs without Republican obstructionism.
So in the end I trust Obama with these powers and if you can elect a Republican, or Libertarian, he can sign them away on day one. All I can say is this is what the Republicans and the Tea Party brought upon themselves by their actions, and lack thereof.
