Trouble with your GPS? Your computer is mysteriously rebooting? Your cell phone isn't working? It could be due to the effects of a solar storm. Two coronal mass ejections from the sun just hit Earth and another one is on the way.

So, things are starting to become more lively in our little corner of the universe and our main source of life is starting to come alive itself. The increase in solar flares and general solar activity surely can't be just a coincidence.

What do you guys think?

Nope it's not a coincidence.

It's called solar maximum and it happens every 11 years.

Maybe you should just respond to the many already ongoing threads about this. And no, in my opinion it hasn't begun

Peace

I don't know but I heard that apparently our sun is going through some cluster of some sort, I haven't seen anything else about this somewhere but it is funny seeing all this activity from it, Specially since I've been watching the activity of the sun like everyday for almost a year now(On solarham.com) and haven't seen this much activity before.

Exactly, and our technology is better than it was 11 years ago to detect them.

??? I see several people saying the OP is just rehashing the old one..but..

I see two more since the big one we just had a storm from. A cute little C class and a high range M class. The M is nothing but a generator for the Auroras and the folks far north should get a show....but there were new ones?

This is a great time to buy a solar filter for anyone who has a telescope-The solar maximum provides the best images as there are loads more sun spots to view(carefully).

I want to get one soon, but the shop I use is out of stock at the moment.

Could face solar flares for another 18 months experts warn

Space scientist Maggie Aderin-Pocock said there could be another “five or six” major incidents in the coming months, where the sun emits massive amounts of matter. The warning comes as the Sun enters the most active stage of its 11-year cycle, heralded by a massive solar flare being predicted to hit Earth yesterday.

More to this story than first meets the eye.
