Here are some quotes from the peace loving book of islam. Spoken by muhammad himself no less......
If you ask any Muslim what is your religion or what do you believe that Islam is about? They would say Peace.

If you ask any Muslim what is your religion or what do you believe that Islam is about? They would say Peace. So if Islam was divided, lets say 1 percent is the extremist and that is giving way too much. So why do they represent the 2.2 billion people, the whole 100?

First of all, the majority of muslims themselves unanimously say islam is about submission, not peace. Secondly, your logic is off. You ask why the 1 percent extremists of islam represent 2.2 billion people, but that is not the case. The koran represents those 2.2 billion people, and if you've studied the koran you'd see that the "extremists" are actually the good muslims according to the teachings in the koran, and the so-called 99% "moderate" muslims are not being good muslims. The fact is, based on the koran, you cannot be a moderate muslim at the same time you follow the koran. That's a contradiction.
Here's a nice quote from the koran which supports this.
Verse 5:51 - "Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another."
Obviously we know plenty of muslims have non-muslim friends. Even I myself have some.
This can only mean two things. 1- 99% of all muslims are not true muslims according to the koran.
2- 99% of all muslims are lying or downplaying their own beliefs publicly, while privately showing their true form.
Either way, quotes like those prove that "extremists" are actually the good and faithful muslims, and the koran itself supports this.edit on 3/2/2012 by bl4ke360 because: (no reason given)
To understand the issue of befriending the Jews, Christians or people of any other faith, we have to study all the concerned verses from the Quran collectively. Let us look at some other verses about this issue. The following two verses regulate relations with any people, regardless of faith: As for such [of the unbelievers] as do not fight against you on account of [your] faith, and neither drive you forth from your homelands, God does not forbid you to show them kindness and to behave towards them with full equity: for, verily, God loves those who act equitably. (Quran 60:8) God only forbids you to turn in friendship towards such as fight against you because of [your] faith, and drive you forth from your homelands, or aid [others] in driving you forth: and as for those [from among you] who turn towards them in friendship; it is they, they who are truly wrongdoers! (Quran 60:9) From the above verses, we learn that we are only discouraged from befriending those who fight Muslims because of their religion. Now let's go back to the verse immediately after 5:51, to see if it sheds some further light on the issue. And yet you can not see how those in whose hearts there is disease vie with one another for their good will (the hostile Jews and Christians), saying [to themselves], "We do fear lest a change of fortune bring us disaster." But God may well bring about good fortune [for the believers] or any [other] event of His own devising, whereupon those [waverers] will be smitten with remorse for the thoughts which they had secretly harboured within themselves- (Quran 5:52) During the time of the Prophet when the Jews and Christians were in open conflict with the Muslims, there were some Muslims who were more concerned about maintaining there alliances with the Jews and Christians at the expense of the Muslim community. The above verse is referring to such situations where Muslims with doubts in their hearts will ally themselves with the enemy.
Chapter 5 Verse 57 of the Quran makes it clear again, who are not to be taken as friends; O you who believe! take not for friends and protectors those who take your religion for a mockery or sport,- whether among those who received the Scripture before you, or among those who reject Faith; but remain conscious of God, if you are (truly) believers. (Quran 5:57) God teaches us throughout the Quran that there are righteous Jews and Christians. As such there is no prohibition for Muslims to be friends with Jews, Christians or people of any other faith who are of good character.

I'm going to bed now so this is the last thing I have to say about the subject. Let me make an analogy. When you leave food out and and you find an ant infestation afterward, how do you get rid of the problem? Do you kill the ants and assume the problem is dealt with? No, because the problem lies at the source. Where those ants came from. Similarly, the violent muslim extremists can be seen as the ants in the analogy, and the only method about preventing their violence is to destroy the source. Otherwise they will keep coming back like the ants would. The source of course is the koran. If the koran was invalidated, violent muslims would cease to exist. That's why the "war on terror" is pointless because there will be a never-ending supply of muslim combatants. For the record I am not against muslims, but the teachings of islam. Indoctrination (especially at an early age) can make people do illogical things. In any case, islam has shown itself to produce more harm than good, and until we realize this, the problems will not go away. While all of the above can be applied to all religions where people have committed violence in the name of their religion, I'm directing this at islam specifically because it has the highest amount of violence/terrorism attributed to it, and I don't see the world benefiting from it. Too much violence resulting from islam, and I have yet to see peace. Muslims even attack muslims all the time, mostly because of having different interpretations of aspects of their religion, so even if the entire human population converts to islam, there would still be wars. Surely if Islam was a religion of so-called peace, I would be seeing some of it by now.edit on 3/2/2012 by bl4ke360 because: (no reason given)
