The head of the BBC, Mark Thompson, has admitted that the broadcaster would never mock Mohammed like it mocks Jesus. He justified the astonishing admission of religious bias by suggesting that mocking Mohammed might have the “emotional force” of “grotesque child pornography”.

Blatant hypocrisy from the BBC as usual, apparently mocking Jesus and Christianity is fair game but never Mohhamed. because that would be the equivalent to grotesque child pornography ( apparently)

Mr Thompson says the BBC would never have broadcast Jerry Springer The Opera – a controversial musical that mocked Jesus – if its target had been Mohammed. He made the remarks in an interview for a research project at the University of Oxford

Oh the hypocrisy.

Last year former BBC news anchor Peter Sissons said Christians are “fair game” for insults at the corporation, whilst Muslims must not be offended. Mr Sissons, whose memoirs were serialised in the Daily Mail, said: “Islam must not be offended at any price, although Christians are fair game because they do nothing about it if they are offended.”

so it's the chrstians fault for not doing anything. what does he mean like setting fire to embassys and killing people over a cartoon. seems so.

Emphasis on the little word "did".
But then they changed. Doesn't make me want to join them but at least their god seems to give them true strength. I'm an Atheist BTW.

This is the power of Islam.

Afraid yet?

Don't look
Don't touch
Don't speak
Don't draw
Don't mock
Don't burn
Don't criticize
Compromise
(nod to U2)

But doesn't anyone see where we are with this?

They have us cowed. We are humbled and silent and afraid to offend.

And I say no.
Kiss my butt!

Mock Jesus? Fine. We mock Mohammed. Mock christianity? I'll wrap a bacon and pork pie sandwich with the bloody Koran and serve it for supper!

Stop, stop, stop being afraid!

From source:

Islam must not be offended at any price, although Christians are fair game because they do nothing about it if they are offended.

Completely agree...where is the fun in terrorizing those that will strike back..? With Christians, you can verbally slap the hell out of them (pun intended), and they may pull out a cross or bible and come at you with them, but a simple juke to the left or right will evade any injury.

With Muslims, you gotta watch out when giving them a hard time...if you don't have safety numbers, you at least need a fistful of bacon to fend them off.

And both categories are an insult to rational minds, but until they annihilate one another, jokes and sarcasm are all we have...

Why not? What makes religion "exempt" from mockery? Why do we have to walk on eggshells around such archaic ways of thinking and draconoan ways of treating other human beings?

And because of that, they lends themselves to be mocked by their own very selfish ways.

I think it attests to the nature of Jesus, I don't think he would want
to blow you up if you mocked him, he would feel sorry for you and
tell his buddies that you are just ignorant. Now I mock Jesus' modern
day flock when they overlook and defy his message of love.

Now that is funny, far to much hype over muslims and their religious beliefs.

THE WORLD HAS FAR MORE SERIOUS ISSUES TO DEAL WITH THAN A RELIGION OR ANY RELIGION.

The hypocrisy coming form the BBC is actually kind of laughable, and illustrates perfectly just how much no one understands Islam, including modern Islamic followers.

In Islam, it is forbidden to depict and speak unfavorably of any Prophet or figure mentioned in the Qur'an, not just Mohammed, so this includes Jesus and Moses, who are also recognized prophetic figures in the Islamic faith. This is why mosques generally depict geometric shapes and various other mosaics showing designs and patterns instead of the murals, statues, and stained glass depictions of Biblical characters and events usually found in Churches and Cathedrals. Even animals are sketchy by Islamic standards.

So going by this ideology, the BBC is still being insulting to Muslims by mocking Christ, though they (and most Muslims) are too ignorant to see that. Personally, I could care less. If you're going to side-step logic to entertain religious mythology, you're just opening yourself up for ridicule anyway.

Islam will cow you into complete submission with threats of violence one ratchet click at a time - once they have sufficient strength, any pretense at co-existence will be dropped and the slaughter will begin.

You are going to have to tell Islam to F**K off at some point and they are going to want to kill you for it - might as well be now, rather than when they have a sword on your neck!

This just emphasizes that the claim that "we don't give in to terrorists" is a lie to hide the fact that even governments are afraid of terrorists AND give in to them.

Its not about banning a religion(s) its more like its time to just dismantle the power choke hold they have upon humanity, we shouldn't get this upset over something imaginary.

I'm with you dude and I'm afraid of nothing especially not Mohammed. Any religion that rely's on pure faith is a joke as far as I am concerned. My human nature is that of not believing anything until I see it. If there was a great creator, surely they would be well aware of this, so why not show yourself you big fat coward.
