trying to get everyone on board to push their agenda.

That organization was created in late 2009 when some ACORN offices disbanded and reorganized under new names after undercover video exposes prompted Congress to cut off federal funds.

Do not make assumptions about me. I don't follow anyone blindly, ever...and you should not assume so about others either. I supported Obama once too, no longer. I know you think you are being kind to me and I appreciate that but you actually are making me out to be some kind of victim of Occupy propaganda. I'm not. I will continue to support Occupy until I see a reason not to, those reasons would not include paranoid delusions. And I will always support the initiative to not lay down like a dog, whether it bears the name Occupy or another name.

I’m not making assumptions. We’ve talked about it many times and you’ve explained to me (clearly) where you stand on many issues; we agree on a lot of those issues. We differ on our view about what OWS really is and really stands for….

I don't have much time to read through this entire thread, but did anyone mention the fact that the event was held at an Islamic center but Islam was not the focus of the event?

It seems to me that the local "church" decided to get involved with the community around them and join the Occupy4Jobs people to voice their opinions on jobs and such.

Is this any different than a community meeting at the local baptist church in any of your local areas?

Some of you must be sitting naked at your computer desk gettin' jiggy with yourselves over this article!

Yes huge difference, our community meetings are held at town hall.
This was not a community meeting. This was the orginizers of Occ-you-pies

is known to be a holocaust denier teach holocaust denial to the people.
They are strategizing their efforts for when the occ-you-pie comes out this spring,

down and dirty with more hate groups. The occupy movement is more
then just some protest, they would like to overturn the government

The Occupy movement has always been leftist from the start. People can try to deny it all they want, or just overlook it. All the Socialist Workers World Party and CPUSA and so on were all supporting it and marching with them. The Unions too.

They attacked Capitalism in so many ways, from signs to statements at the mic and so on. Adbusters is anti-corporation as well. Ruckus Society receives funds from Soros. It is so simple. All one has to do is read the list of demands to know they are pushing socialism and statism. All the references to "direct democracy" was to attack the Republic.
Then supporters here were talking about nationalizing the Fed.

I'm pretty sure even those people carrying that big sign for socialism don't know what they are doing.

Even if Occupy was serious, there's never been any "people's movement" in all of human history that didn't end in massive bloodshed, mostly against the common man. I hate the banks as much as anyone, but I'll take the current system over anything Occupy stands for any day of the week.

Your local community may have meetings at town hall, but in larger areas it is commonplace for certain communities to hold meeting at a church.

This is a half-truth.

This WAS a community meeting to address the closing of the local post office, and their concern that it may have been racially motivated. Occupy4jobs would obviously be concerned with something like that. As well, the Nation of Islam would have concern with the racial aspect.

I agree that the rants against capitalism was uncalled for and I do not agree necessarily with that.

I know two people that are members of the nation of Islam. They actively work to improve relations with blacks, Muslims and other people within the community. They are not violent nor racist. Generalizing the entire movement because of a few bad eggs is not a good way of looking at this.

For example, if we use your way of thinking...the tea party must be a bunch of racist hateful bigots just because David Duke (kkk) was allowed to speak and endorse the TP. It is guilt by association, is it not? That's what you are doing here.

Other than a dumb rant about capitalism, I see no need for concern. They are trying to address a local labor issue as far as we know.

Sheepslayer, that guy was an infiltrator. This has been debunked so many times. There were only a few people like that at the Tea Parties, but at Occupy the norm was CPUSA, Unions, Socialists, druggies, homeless, etc.

I have a problem with the communists, and that's why I pulled my support from the Occupy movement...so I agree with that.

Unions are not inherently a problem. The politics they get involved with is.

Socialists: I have a problem with that statement because our police, firefighters and military are in and of themselves socialist programs. Are they not paid to protect the common good and paid by the collective wealth of the people? That's socialism! So the word socialism is a buzz word used by ignorant people, and I expect better from you.

What OWS is doing is very patriotic unlike you who supports a system that trashed in a few decades what it took 200 years to build

And a civil war would be a bad idea simply because there are far more poor people than there are rich and the number of poor keep growing everyday.

What difference does any of this make? I mean honestly. We're staring down the barrel of a debt so large it can never be paid back... ever. If every American were taxed at 100% from now until the day they died, it still wouldn't be enough.... and that's just America's debt. We're not even talking about Greece, or any of the other dozens of nations that are currently circling the drain.

Occupy cannot fix this problem.
Tea Partiers cannot fix this problem.
Our current governmetn cannot fix this problem.
Neither can Europe, or Asia, or the Middle East.

Personally, I couldn't give a damn whom Occupy joined with. I used to be one of their biggest supporters, but to be honest, they just aren't causing enough damage to engender change.

We're stuck in a glitch, ladies and gents, and the only way to fix the problem is with a massive reset.
