It looks to me like someone is having a laugh at the expense of STRATFOR; possibly the same people who put together and distributed that fake Friedman resignation e-mail.

Some of these 'emails' are really quite funny, but it appears that a lot of you are taking them seriously. If reading that glossary doesn't raise eyebrows then you really can't be helped.

I am under the thinking that there might be some fraudulent info coming at us also, but 5 million emails? Don't think it's all fake.

Still waiting, of course,

That's the problem with large corporations, who is ever held accountable?

Classic example: Wall Street.

Wikileaks/Anonymous commits illegal acts to get the truth, and it's okay. STRATFOR potentially commits illegal acts to get the truth, and they're evil.

Just interesting to me.

I think the difference is privatized truth vs. open truth.

Wikileaks is releasing the information to the public, Stratfor was going to open up a trading firm that used legal loopholes to profit off inside information.

I don't really want to argue the morality of it all, but I wouldn't act as though the people caught in the loop are innocent either. The focus on banks, firms like this, government is the same focus that has been used to ostracize and alienate regular people for many years.

it's like saying a child molester is in his right of liberty if he gets off on a technicality. Even if he paid the judge, jury and all involved to create the technicality.

To defend this is wrong and makes everyone suspect. I would really reconsider damage control, it only encourages the opponent in this situation. Which is the general public.

No one in their right mind will have a problem with this. Unless they have vested interests. I am not saying people are shills for doing so, but what rational person says it is ok to let a child molester free due to technicalities.

If it happens people lose trust in the system. If you defend this you lose the trust of your peers.

wrong, ok,

what is the greater wrong. Killing people is wrong, yet we go to war to kill the Hitlers of the world do we not.

It is wrong to steal, yet we confiscate criminal funds.

It is wrong to hold someone against their will, yet we put people in prison.

It is wrong to threaten the freedom and safety of my people, so we steal emails and expose fraud.

This is why one must follow the spririt of the law, and not the literal words of it.
They are just a guide, but when they are corrupted and twisted, the guide is always the spirit.

I am sorry, this is a good thing. It had to happen. They have not left the unavoidable truth any other option.

Edit: I was going to say it was breaking that anonymous is claiming to have forged e-mails but that may just be old news repeated, I'll wait for confirmation either way

yes i would agree some of them are quite funny and they are just conversational banter between individuals who seem to work for an intelligence gathering agency....but when on looks at the names...the sender and the reciever and the dates and put them together with issues being discussed....it seems to fit into a chronological timeline.....so what i am gathering from you is...hoax......or am i wrong there.
